SO, keeping it rather simple in the beginning, I'm young, 20 to be exact. Porn and masturbation has been a part of my life for the last eight years minimal. Usually, it's been through outlets of erotic roleplay and playing out all kinds of fetishes that now I realize are rather sickening to my health. A few weeks ago, I was staying up as usual into the night on my day off from work. My best friend of fourteen years was getting ready to leave to head back to his own house. I had the sudden urge to come with him. There is no internet at his house. I learned what God's nudging can feel like and I went with him and spent the night.

During that night I was reading a book on my tablet when my friend who isn't religious suddenly mentioned a book called 23 minutes in Hell. I heard of this book before and my friend, who isn't religious in the slightest happened to have it in his draws and mentioned it...seemingly out of the blue. It was a wake-up call from God. Now between that night and now I've stumbled a few times, asking myself is is it really wrong to do these things?

Sadly the answers I got was no, that it was ok, and this came from Sunday school teacher. But I can't nor will I believe it. I've been so addicted to masturbation that I've rubbed myself bloody and then kept on going and I wish it was an exaggeration. I'm here now, and tonight because of God and my craving for true freedom from the chains of this sin and the whispers of the devil about them

Welcome my brother. You have made a good choice to stop. Yes this is wrong, God wants us to be sexually pure. That includes PMO. I recommend reading a book called "Everyman's Battle". It opened my eyes to sexual purity from God's standpoint and not the worlds. We are called to a higher standard. Jesus died that you could be free of this, so take the gift of freedom he gave you. Don't get down on yourself, that will only make things harder. Ask for forgiveness and accept it.

Thanks for the advice, and I can say I've read the book, it's sitting on my bookshelf right now, along with one called Every young man's God's man, a companion book of sorts. I can proudly say that me and my GF of six years are also both happy virgins on top of all of this.
