    Hey everyone!

My name is Keith. I am from Ireland. I am 25.

Not exactly new to this. I signed up months ago but left it when the thrill wore off and I found I actually had to do the hard task and stopping watching internet porn and masturbating. I am gay and found that for years I have watched excessive amounts of porn and masturbated so much that I would get anxious and irritable if I couldn't masturbate to relieve any tension. Since my late teens as I reflect back on it I have found that i gradually became more and more isolated until it reached its peak last year and I couldn't feel very much, became so self-conscious and paranoid and frankly suicidal. Luckily, I got some counselling and I am still here.

I think the porn-addiction and masturbation has a lot to do with my mental health issues and I waste so much of my time on gay apps such as Grindr that I have kind of based my sense of self on meaningless and random sexual counters. I feel if I kick this habit and 'reboot' I would alleviate or gain some sort of meaning or happiness in my life or at least give myself the chance to focus my mind on other things.

Anyway, wish me luck! It is so inspiring to read everyone's elses stories. I am going to challenge myself to a month with no porn nor masturbating as I am heading off on holidays for three weeks next week so it will make it somewhat easier as I am staying
    in hostels and that!

That's a good challenge you have set your self, best of luck.

  3. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals.

I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.
