Hello all, I'm 24 years old male.

I recently found out about this forums, and its very assuring to know there are many others who are trying to accomplish this.

I've started when I was 13, not to a chronic extent, but soon enough it became something.

I've always had trouble making friends since childhood (sick + parents left me at critical age), but this habit must've hit my self-esteem as well.

When fapping became chronic, uni didn't go well, even though I did well to get in. And soon I felt dumber than my past self and I began to even fail. ...and I ended up with a worthless barely-passing degree, which I didn't even enjoy.

No social life, terrible job which I'm honestly not needed, and small physique.

I've tried quitting when I was 19 after reading some buddhist theories, but I've searched its effects on body, but there was no scientific evidence. And I felt stupid for even trying.
But soon I started to actually find scientific experiments regarding this. Such as there was a testosterone boost after 7 days (I couldn't even refrain for 7 days). And then there were youtube videos about your brain on porn. And then it made sense, my memory and decision making. Grey matter was what's making us feel alive. And I've been told that my eyes look tired/drowsy all the time.

So I quit? Oh no, its been hard. Especially when its like your body automatically goes on a P site.

But now I'm on my 17th day, and I haven't been this far since I've started PMO. I've been able to refrain from P. And now at least I have control, as in its just a matter of choice when I get the itch.

    The changes so far:
-My eyes seem to be more clearer when I look at them in the mirror. Much more like marbles rather than those dead fish eyes.
-Not certain about my confidence, but seems like some improvement.
-But, I'm having lots of trouble controlling my acne after 7th day.
-Working out more often, but its more of a decision to organise time for it.
-Also I've been totally blown away and admiring random girls on the street for their curves

Welcome! I'm glad you found the site. Using this site I've put together more days off porn than I ever had since I e tried to quit,

Here are a few things that I have been doing since partaking in the ultimate challenge which I believe have helped:

    1. Write on my journal, get a counter, and post/read others' posts on nofap several times per week.

    2. Become more open and honest with friends and family about my addiction.

    3. Have parental blocks on my electronic devices (for me this is but a short term solution but it has helped).

    4. Exercise 6 days a week 20 minutes. For me, I have been running Monday-Saturday and weight lifting intermittently at random.

    5. Eating healthy. I have been tracking my foods and trying to make my diet fit the USDA guidelines.

    6. I have become strict about meditating/praying every morning.

    7. I am checking my bank account every night and making a monthly budget to be better at personal finance
