I'm 19 years old and ive been struggling with PMO for almost an year. Before I had school to focus on but recently I've been getting a lot of free time and this once a month stuff turned it minimum once a week.

I've tried really hard to quit and I've once made it to 3 weeks before crashing down. Ever since then I'd given up hope on ever getting over it but I just recently turned 19 and I'm more determined than ever to quit this once and for all!

Its officially been 11 days and i was beginning to falter, very nearly relapsed before I got a hold of myself. I was looking for help online and came across this page and decided to join.

If any of you have any advise for me, please help
I'll gladly take anything I can get.
My biggest current problem is how can you stop thinking about Porn.
Any tips on how to quickly take your mind off it?

My experience with the matter tells me that the more you try not to think of porn, the harder it actually is.
One should focus on filling his life with different pleasures instead. Spend less time in front of any screens, on the Internet, etc...
    Welcome to the community.

Try to get cold shower, or start to watch
Videos of harmful effects of PMO.
Try not to think about P.
Do sports, read books, try to go out your
Comfort zone. Try to do something useful from yourself.
There is a tons of information in YouTube what to do and how to quit PMO.
I hope it helps you to fight with it
    Good luck!

    I see...
Watching videos of harmful effects will effectively discourage the urge!
Thanks alot man! Why the hell haven't I tried that!
I'm also going to start exercising again. I used to do it at one point but don't know how I stopped. No better time to get it started again I guess

    I guess you're right...

I usually spend most of my time studying for this big exam but when I get tired and lay down, these thoughts come into my head.

Hi there! I have found that by focussing on hobbies and interests and keeping busy helps me alot! I use free time to train at the gym, go for walks, hang put with friends, listen to music, I attend Christian meetings with Jehovah's witnesses (that works for me) I find belief in a higher power helps me. I like to listen to music and read books. I try not to look at attractive women for more than 3 seconds. I try to channel my energies differently and pick up on the times when I slip into fantasy. CBT is quite useful too! And talking and confiding with close friends and telling them about my feelings. I hope this helps! :)

Man I envy you... Wish I could also do that.

    Anyway thanks alot
I'll give exercise and listening to music a try.
I'll also start with religious methods too.

    Thanks alot for your support!
    I really appreciate it

Your very courageous for seeking help and owning up to the issue. I was still very much in the dark at your age

To have that level of awareness at your age is a massive step towards long-lasting self-improvement

That's no problem mate. Try to keep your thinking clear. Instead of PMO/MO go for a walk, do the dishes, tidy the house, listen to your favourite music, learn to meditate, speak to a friend, play sport/gym :)
