How can heavy metal be used to combat porn?

Listening to Evanescence helped me for a certain period to stay strong, cause I felt this music kind of contrary to sexual pleasure, it was like changing the feelings. But it didn't work when the urge was to strong. I could fight some slight urges by listening to Evanescence. For strong urges I prefer some other techniques.

I don't know if this will help but Master of Puppets is a song about drug addiction, but it almost describes porn addiction, well to me.

 

I find sometimes, that listening to Metal while I have strong urges, it buys me some more time to collect myself and take myself out of that immediate urge. I haven't tried it as much as I'd have like to now that I'm looking back, so next time I have an urge, I will put on a metal song, and then go do something completely else.

I would think maybe try and find a really complex metal song, one which takes a lot of your attention, then go do something else without thinking back. I find the times where I do overcome urges, are where I am basically minimizing the time for my thoughts and keeping my mind absorbed in other activities.

 

If you want really complex metal songs, start looking into progressive metal, e.g Opeth, Queensryche

I'm listening to this song of primal fear, because is in frequency with my situation of abstinence. I quitted P and I need to be healed of my mind.
