How many non-Americans here?

And how many non-native English speakers?

In the past I guess I assumed NoFap was mostly American, but now I'm not really sure. Long ago when I read someone's post that was written in not-exactly-proper English, with strange mistakes, I would think, "What is wrong with this person?" But now I see those mistakes and I realize, "Maybe English isn't their native language? And I only speak one language?? What's wrong with me???"

I've been looking at the link you posted, @rabbitz . Very surprising for me - Western Europeans (at 21%) are the largest group of Fapstronauts after Americans (51%).

Also surprising - 42% of Fapstronauts are atheists, with another 20% as agnostic or apathetic. That's an overwhelming majority of people who aren't doing NoFap for religious reasons. I think that's pretty awesome.

Judging from the obvious non-religiousness of the typical Fapstronaut, in addition to the high percentage of Western Europeans (who, in my experience, are never very religious in general [I didn't mention Eastern Europe because of Poland aka the Bible Belt of Europe]), it seems that NoFap is a very secular movement.

I'm really encouraged by this. It shows that there is a lot of reason behind NoFap, not just religious reasons, and if the mainstream media saw these statistics, maybe it would help them to see the light as well. It's just a shame that this type of thing is so taboo to talk about, at least in the States.

Cool! I met a guy from Bulgaria once. I asked him if a lot of Bulgarians lifted weights, since there are so many lifts with "Bulgarian" in the name. He said he hadn't thought about it, but that yeah there are a lot of big muscular guys in Bulgaria, although he thinks it's because of steroids.

That's a good point. It would be a shame if I didn't speak English - there would be so much useful material and communities out there that I couldn't take advantage of! I wonder if there is an existent, independent "NoFap"-style movement in any other language?

 

By the way, I think the title of my thread leads to a bias in the poll, because more non-native English speakers will check it out. I should have written "Where are you from?" But still it's interesting to see the sheer numbers.
