    I am watching porn 1-2 times a week. Nothing to much. However, I see if it is possible to not watch porn at all but more importantly gain full control over myself. Thus my reason for signing up for nofap.

    I want to try doing a 100 day no PMO as I heard that is the minimum amount of time required to reboot your brain.

    Wish me luck.

    @UAG welcome to nofap! If you are only watching 1 to 2 times per week you may easily be able to do a full reboot. However, you have to reasonably clear about your motives because abstaining from PMO will not give you any “ super powers” but will free you from time and energy sink which only gets worse with time if unattended! If you are able save that time use it to build your life the way you want it.
    I encourage you to find activities, either work related or hobby related, which will keep you busy. As the best way to overcome porn is to replace it with wholesome activities.
    I wish you good luck!

    I am feeling very positive, however I know that it will get harder as the day goes by. I will be writing in this blog everyday.

    From experience, I expect that with nofap, this control of my porn addiction to be temporary. However, I would like to see if this temporary form of control is going to be that way for the rest of my life.

    I can do this.

    I am feeling a lot more urge to do it. But in a very healthy way, like I am thinking about girls in real life only and hardly porn at all.

    Ready to keep on going!

    Feeling pretty good. I realised that the way to actually keep up with not doing it is by actually being honest with what is best in your life and always doing those things. If you practice excellence everyday, it will be a habit soon.

    Lets go!!

    I read somewhere it is actually even more simple just being honest should get us out of this mess!

  10. Hey @UAG ,

    I don't wish "luck". For me it works if I work it.

    My ESH is that NoFap is about action and that meant work for me. It is not about "not doing something", for me, it is about working my program.

    Work it? Oh yeah. There's work to be done, that's what's worked for me. Two things I've found necessary.

    1. I had to Learn the NoFap Program.

    2. Getting involved with the community on here was vital to help my recovery.

    Learn the NoFap Program
    The resources listed on the "New Users: List of Rebooting Resources" helped me find my way around the reasons behind the program and the terms used.

    They are:

    You can find this same list on the top of the forum you posted this message on at - the "New to NoFap" forum.

    Get Involved with the Community
    The community has been my lifeline. I've found journals I love, people who are very supportive and a place where I could get to work helping in a small way others.

    Remember, I'm just a normal user with no magic powers. But, I can:

    • Read Journals, and comment when I have ESH

    • Find people I admire and stay in touch via their profiles

    • Pick a forum and make sure every post gets and answer. I can't answer them all, but that's good - different opinions make for a better group.

    • Post in my journal (I could be better at it - but I do milestone posts at least) To make a journal go to the section listed by age and start one. Keep all your journal posts in one thread. But, for random thoughts, you can create a new thread.
    Looking forward to seeing you around on the forums,

    --> L

    PS – I Think of pmo like a wolf. If I Stay near the center of the group with the winners the wolf has a more difficult time finding me. But, stray near the edges of the community by not working my program and the wolf can pick me off.

  11. For me NoFap is 1/2 program & 1/2 fellowship.

    Click on these people and post a "hello" on their profiles.

    I've found that the bricks that hold this community together are cemented with the support of the members of the fellowship.

    @Barry Barnstein
    @Ready to be healthy
    @Brahmacharin
    @tet2vd
    @Satchi
    @BigDawg913
    @zakes
    @LilD
    @kropo82

    Look at with whom they exchange messages and you will find more profiles.

    So, if you would have found more profiles yourself, why suggest these particular ones as a start? Those relationships started with just saying hello. So, my ESH is that saying hello has kept the fellowship alive for myself.

    Looking forward to your success and in seeing you say hello on these profiles,

    --> L

  12. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals. Reading other's stories with their victories and even defeats is a big part of my program.

    I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

    Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

    There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

    This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.

    --> L

    PS - Starting a journal also helped me a great deal.

    The journals are listed by age groups on the forum start page.

    Most members run one journal only. That way both the member and others can go back and look at their journey at a later time.

    Hope to read your journal soon. Also, in your personal details you can put a link to your journal. Then, appears under your avatar.

    It is Day 7,

    Now I am feeling my motivation slips a little, but it is still alright, I will continue doing the things I know are best for me and I will carry on trying to find inspiration to carry on this journey.

    What I found out is motivation doesn't just come from the external world, sometimes it takes a few weeks for motivation to be developed within yourself. Of course motivation from the external world is faster, but it is not sustainable. Because you have to find more and more motivation just to get by.

    Now I am trying to answer this qn: is it possible to use internal motivation and following the principles that you know are best for you to carry you through all your addiction and bad habits (this includes what nofap is all about).

    Lets go , all stops released, going on !

    Being honest seems to help for awhile, but every time you do something that is allowing yourself to slip a little it tends to makes the feeling of the urges stronger. Almost like every time you allow yourself to slip it develop a stronger neural connection and thus the feelings you experience from these urges become stronger. Thus, it seems that you always have to allow your body to do the things that are in your best interest, so that it becomes increasingly easier to do these actions.

    From these past few days, my experience is that the body will more easy filter out the thoughts that are not aligned with your recurring thought(say your desire to follow your best interests, and thus bad habits dont not easy enter your mind).

    I dont know much about this issue. Hopefully you can tell me what works an I can learn from you too.

    Thanks so much for the comments!

    Here is my interpretation of “being honest” is the only requirement: whenever we relapse first acknowledging it and second being honest about the situation and also our feelings around the time incident happened and finally trying to acknowledge our shortcomings/insecurities in our day-to-day lives will go a long way to addressing this.
    Most of the time PMO is our attempt to soothe ourselves from a difficult situation such as being lonely or being under stress or feeling inferior etc. We need to get to the Bottom of this issue that is driving us to do PMO. We need to find that issue and address it. We can only do that by being honest. Of course, it is easier said than done!

    Hi @UAG! I wish you luck because I think luck dos matter. I think luck plays a huge role in my recovery. To me luck is another word for good fortune or grace, or even a higher power having an eye out for me and guiding me in a good path.

    I think I am lucky to have found NoFap. What are the odds that I would find NoFap? I didn't find NoFap due to my own hard work. It was a lot of luck and good fortune that it came accross my radar. I am lucky that NoFap is so big on the internet. Hard to miss.

    I am lucky that when i searched youtube for "how to edge" during a relapse, I found a no fapper's video about "how not to edge" or something like that. I am lucky certain you tube channels came up on my feed and kept drawing me in to NoFap. If it were other youtube channels who knows where I'd be right now.

    I am lucky I have a computer. What are the odds of that? Not guaranteed. Without a computer how could I do NoFap? (Oh wait then I wouldnt have P---- LOL)

    So I wish you luck. And I wish me luck. I wish everyone the best of luck. And that good things come to them right at the right time :)
