when i was in the 9th grade i dont remember trying to abstain from masturbation or anything but i got what i later learned was called blueballs. the pain came to me when walking outside and the pain was so severe i was only able to walk about a quarter of the speed i normally walk at (im also normally a slow walker) the only time i felt relief was when i was laying down or sitting down. but even the process of standing up was so bad that i tried to stay confined to a chair or bed. this lasted about 3 days. nofap would be the perfect way for this to happen again and honestly im worried. its been 3 years since that has happened to me and now im really concerned about this happening again. i relapsed just to avoid having this issue, i was already having an urge but my willpower could have easily put that to the side. my willpower wasnt strong enough to prepare for that same pain i had in the 9th grade though. and i feel like masturbating every 3 days to prevent it. are there any benefits from significantly lowering the rate at which i masturbate at? i would normally masturbate at the very least twice a day (to porn of course) so i was definitely aware of my issue. now i feel like slowly lowering the amount of times i masturbate but still keeping it as a part of my lifestyle to avoid any issues. am i wrong about the cause of blueballs? are there any other ways of preventing it? anything you can tell me in regards to this situation could really help me
