The side effects of Naltrexone are far, far, far less serious than the side effects of PMO and it's not addictive. I think people who are struggling to deal with this addiction should make use of every possible avenue to get healthy.

  6. Especially people with some form of OCD. I have minor OCD and sometimes it is just hard to let go of certain things because the thoughts keep bothering me.

I take naltrexone with bupropion to mimic Contrave for weight loss. I don't really think it makes s different in my PMO urges.

I take a relatively low dose of both drugs, which doesn't make the combo very psychiatrically therapeutic. If anything the dopaminergic drug (bupropion) would have the sexual/behavioral effects. But the combo definitely helps with my food cravings, especially the binge eating.

No problem. It would be interesting to see a clinical trial for a pharmacological agent to treat PMO withdrawal. I'm just not sure of the logistics of an experiment, or even how to design it?

It seems the drug only keeps the urges at bay. I'd be careful with any preliminary research like this.

It works for me to reduce urges. I also attend church with someone who visited the Amen clinic and takes it as well.
I'm taking 150 mg per day of naltrexone to reduce cravings. Most take 50 mg per day. A contrave tablet has 8 mg of naltrexone, which is likely too low to reduce cravings.

I take 5-htp which works wonders for calming your sex drive down and taming urges
