It's Great to Be Here

Hi Everyone,

My name is Thomas and I am a 27 year old man living in Los Angeles. I've struggled with porn since I was a teenager. I've changed a lot since then and am quite a different person but porn has always been constant. I got married almost four years ago to my best friend and love of my life and we immediately moved away from our families. My porn use immediately increased and for several years I PMO'd everyday, multiple times a day. I have been caught by my wife multiple times and it has caused issues. My wife feels like I don't find her attractive and has a hard time trusting me. The longest I've gone with PMO'ing is 90 days exactly, which took place last march through june. For the first time ever I confessed to PMO'ing to my wife a couple weeks ago. I got fed up with hiding it and I really wanted to change. It unexpectedly hurt my wife more than I thought it would and she reacted stronger to it than when she caught me using for over a year. But at the same time, since i initiated the conversation, I was able to endure her distance and emotions better than I have ever in the past. It empowered me and reminded me that I am a strong human being that wants my life to be a positive one that engages with the world and changes it for the better. My goal in my signature is 90 days but really its forever. I'm hoping that I can use this forum for support and to encourage others as well as to put my sobriety first in my life right now. My mistake last time was getting cocky and putting my self in situations where PMO'ing was too easy.
