I'm 24, and have been watching porn for almost 10 years.

For 3 years now I have been in a long distance relationship, and throughout that time I've kept watching porn and masturbating to it, almost daily when we aren't together.

I want to stop, I can feel that when we have sex now I don't enjoy it as much, I'm imagining porn scenes in my head and it's spoiling what little time we have together.

I have tried several times to stop, going for a few days or occasionally a couple of weeks without watching porn, but each time I can't keep it going.

I will next see her at the end of October - I don't want to watch porn or masturbate until then. I hope that by airing this here I'll be more motivated to stick to this goal - I've promised her I will stop watching porn.

@Tom9287 welcome to nofap. You are right about not enjoying sex that much when we are addicted to PMO. We cannot "unsee" what we have seen just a few days ago and as a result we have unrealistic expectations about real sex and we don't get aroused as much seeing a real person. Thankfully brain can rewire it self and the effects of what we have seen diminishes over time.

This is a habit that is hard to break by ourselves. We need a community to do so. I encourage you to start a journal and read/contribute to other's journals as well. It will create a virtual community and will keep you accountable.

    I wish you good luck!

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

Thank you! I know I have a few triggers which can easily set me off: coming home from work and just lying down scrolling through the news/internet, and doing the same before going to bed, so I'm avoiding doing those. I'm also spending a lot of time on this site, to keep me motivated. Hopefully it will help, 1 day down...
