I don't really trust modern science in terms of masturbation being healthy. Majority of these statistics scream funded by the adult industry. I could cite a scientific study that claims orgasm increases risks for prostate cancer as well.

    Here the url: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/01/090126082343.htm

There's a saying: you can't change human behaviour even if it's detrimental to their wellbeing, you can only leverage that behaviour to your advantage. This principle is fundamental for running a business, science (seemingly), food companies, etc.

Personally, we're in the same influential context as seen in the tobacco golden age (where science was claiming smoking was healthy) as similar to internet pornography and PMO. The age of internet porn is less than 15 years old, and science on this topic is lackluster in development or swayed by the adult industry as similar to the tobacco industry in its golden age.

Follow your own intuition, as majority of information presented is swayed in one shape or form.

This might be a bit unrelated but I feel the same way about marijuana. We don't have a full understanding of what the long term consequences are. Yet, everyone acts like it's the greatest drug known to man. Everything comes at a price. Nothing is free. There may be a few benefits to masturbation but the cost is becoming more clear everyday. We used to prescribe meth and heroin like it was candy.

As attitudes change over time, it can be difficult to know what's good and what's bad, what's right and what's wrong.

For example, in the UK, until 1967 it was illegal in England and Wales to be homosexual (it lasted until 1981 for Scotland, and until 1982 for Northern Ireland). Yet these days people can get in a lot of trouble for homophobic descrimination. But between 1967 and 2019 is a really nice period of time in human history. So is homosexuality good or is it bad? How can something change from being bad to being good in such a short time frame?

Or with Cannabis, in the United States, some states it is legal whereas in other states it's still illegal. So is Cannabis good or is it bad? Or is it a mixture of both?

I'm starting to wonder whether some things are not black and white, where it really depends on the context. With mastubation, it seems that pornography is the biggest problem, and excessive masturbation is a problem too. But moderate masturbation without porn might not be so evil after all. Personally, I feel a big difference between masturation to porn and masturbating without porn. With porn it feels like much more of an addictive rush, whereas without porn it feels more like taking care of a physical release, similar to urinating or sneezing.
