After reading 'your brain on porn' by Gary Wilson it's so obvious that a lot of issues i've had over the last years are due to my excessive use of internet porn and masturbating. I'm a 41 year old gay male, that on a normal weekday wanks probably 2-3 times before bedtime every day, weekends it gets out of hand, when it can get up to 8-9 times, by the last one i'm so 'dried-out' there is hardly any pleasure in it. Any tips of how to 'start-the-stopping' process would be much appreciated, as i've tried a few times in the past to stop/ limit my use of online porn, but without success. In the past i wasn't aware of all this online support network, and that there were others in the same position as me, so i'm very much appreciating this. And hopefully it should be easier this time, and i'm more motivated to succeed this time also. Thank you, Kind regards
You have made a good decision by joining this community and the fact that you are motivated to succeed is also really good. Even tho you may have a different sexual preference than myself when I read your story I feel like I am reading my own story. I would encourage you to keep moving forward and if you fall get up brush yourself off and keep moving. Over the years you have probably tried to stop PM and may have experienced short term sobriety weather it be a few days or a few weeks and you learned much from your success and failures. Please read other peoples stories and share your knowledge with others it will not only help them but you will be helping yourself in the process. Keep up the good work.
