With it being my first day I just wanted to know if i’m still allowed to masterbate and if so is any fantasy allowed? I want to reap the benefits of no porn but still be able to masterbate.... if that’s allowed? And if so will I see any differences from people that do not masterbate at all during this process?

I have been at this for 3 years now and it depends on why you're doing nofap if you're just trying to quite porn them I would believe that masturbation would be acceptable but if you want the benefits that come with nofap then you're going to have to be porn, masturbation, and orgasm free. If you want all the benefits then look up something called sexual transmutation.

No. Fantasizing you are just watching porn in your head. What you are wanting to do is a dead end. You are wasting your time if you want to do that. You're in bondage to intense sexual desire and you want to keep adding fuel to the fire. Get serious about this thing that is destroying your soul.

If you’ve read the manual ”getting started with nofap” you will recognise the different combinations of PMO:

    P = quit “only” porn
PM = quit porn & masturbation
PMO = quit porn, masturbation & orgasm all together

It’s up to you to choose. For my part it’s PM-free that is the only option since I have a SO and don’t believe in keeping M in my life (it will eventually lead me back to P).

Good luck to you my friend!

There isn't anything regarding this whole thing that is or is not allowed.
It all depends on what you want to get out of this lifestyle, and to get the most out of it you must abstain from all sexual activity, and if there is a partner involved find alternative ways to connect intimately.

You will get some benefits from quitting porn, watching porn means you guzzle through yummy pleasure chemicals, if you quit porn you will find yourself finding more pleasure in other activities. You will also get a slightly less terrible way of viewing women, or expectations around sex and women, but definitely not enough

Benefits from quitting masturbation are pretty much the same, but just with a higher intensity and the added bonus of retaining semen, which according to some science and a lot of spiritual practices, gives you a lot of health benefits, and is therefore very much worth it.

Quitting orgasm altogether, will compound all these things and intensify them even more.

Now if you don't want to take things to a high end, that's fine. Your choice, but do beware you won't gain as much as people that don't masturbate either. And if you so choose to occasionally masturbate, something that is still within a somewhat justifiable, healthy frequency, would be every 1-2 weeks. Any more than that could lead to damaging your health, and if you have damaged health from excessive masturbation, it will either take longer to recover, or you won't really recover at all, and it just won't get any worse.
Daily fapping, or even several times a week, is really not healthy. There's a lot of energy, vitamins and nutrients that go into the production of semen, and losing those to 5 seconds of pleasure, is not worth it at all.

So you can, for whatever reason you choose to still masturbate, but I highly recommend going as long without orgasm as you possibly can, or to only occasionally make love to a real person.

Any chance you can provide a link to some of this science about the benefits of semen retention? All I've been able to find are articles about the benefits of non-ejaculatory orgasm (a practice sometimes associated with Tantric sex), which is obviously quite different from semen retention through voluntary celibacy. If all you're trying to do is not ejaculate, you could potentially continue your P, M, and O unabated, and in fact do them even more, since ejaculation is what causes a cooling-off period between orgasms.

But, on the topic of this thread, I agree with most responses. There's no absolute right or wrong way of doing it. However, if you are trying to recover from sex addiction, which is why most people come to NoFap, then you should really consider giving up fapping. Unless you are somehow keeping your mind blank while masturbating, you are still reinforcing bad habits by associating whatever you are fantasizing about with the pleasure of masturbation and orgasm. Which is the core of what you need to stop doing if you want to take control of your life.

Well I can't find any studies detailing what excatly semen retention does to the human body, or any other biological body, it is easy to find sources, even my high school biology teacher mentioned this in the chapters regarding the reproductive system, semen that does not get used, get's broken down, and it's nutrients are used for other things afterwards.
This is where spiritual traditions fill in the result, how much of that is right I do not know, but there's a vast amount of anecdotal evidence all over the forums, and as mentioned, in these ancient traditions.
