    Hi,

I came across this website/organization from doing a search on how to quit masturbating. I just got down on myself because I set a goal of going more than two weeks without it (because that was a mark I've hit before), and couldn't even get to a week. I'm in the early stages of sexual addiction recovery (a little over a month now). I've done some heinous acts and hurt a lot of people along my path. I needed to make a lifestyle change, so I finally came to terms with my addiction. I'm committed to being clean. In the past month I haven't acted out sexually, nor watched much porn. However, I'm finding it quite difficult, especially since I'm not watching much porn, to prevent myself from fantasizing about women. In turn, I masturbate. Like I said, the longest I've gone is two weeks. Although now that seems so far away. I look forward to talking with others and getting their thoughts, ideas and opinions.

    Thanks for your support.

First off good job for making the decision to stop PMO. Im relatively new to this too but I think I can give you some tips. In 6 days it'll be a month for me and I don't even think about porn anymore. For me the toughest part of stopping is always the first two weeks. At that point you are still used to MO and you always think about it. Within the first two week MO is still a habit and you experience way more frequent MO urges then you would if you stopped for a month or so. AT this time its very important you bite down. Get distracted stay busy. Work out, hang with friends stay away from areas you'll be by yourself. Stay away from your favorite MO spot. This is pivotal, because if your busy you don't have time to think of P. A good idea would be to make a habit of setting up road blocks to stop PMO. showering before you go to sleep, that way its easier to fall asleep. If your up late at night and can't fall asleep your mind is always going to drift off to one place. Have someone check your history randomly, this way it makes you not want to PMO. You said you MO to not think about girls, thats hurting you more them helping. I used that excuse often. Don't negotiate, set hard limits. Take your goals seriously and hold yourself accountable. When you MO your brain realizes that as long as it brings up a sexual image you'll do what it wants, release the good stuff haha. If you start thinking of girls find a group of people you'll probably stop thinking of girls, I mean who wants a boner when they're with a bunch of friends. Last but no lease in the words of the great Rob Schneider, you can do it.
