    Hello everyone,

I'm 26 and have been masturbating ever more since I moved out from home. Lately usually about 1-2 times a day, but sometimes up to 6 or more times, always with internet porn.

I am currently in a changing phase of my life after finishing my bachelors degree and now it's up to me to design my future.

I also fell in love with a girl I've been knowing for quite some time. When I was thinking about how I could win her for me, it suddenly felt pathetic more than ever to masturbate. It just didn't seem the right thing to do.

So I quit two days ago and then found the TEDx Talk with Gary Wilson, afterwards the YourBrainOnPorn-Vid. Then suddenly a lot of things seemed so obvious - speaking of social anxiety, especially when approaching women, low self-esteem, willpower or motivation to pursue my goals, depression, loneliness, not continuing sports when I tried to be more active, etc.

So, these are my expectations of self-improvement that I will gain from NoFap.

All the time the answer was so simple, yet was so easy to deny, since "everyone is doing it", "it's all natural", "it improves your (physical) health", and so on.
But these videos opened my eyes for the truth that I - just now - cannot ignore and must act.

I will stay abstinent for as long as possible and am curious what I will notice on the way.
Hope to find good support in your community.

I'm with you! 26 as well and it's been a while. But believe me, it's worth doing not only for yourself but for the girl you love. My fiance is really supportive, she even marked a calendar and said I should start slowly. Do 7 days at a time, for a whole month. If I have no problems go 10 days without masturbation. Then if I'm fine for a whole month, I'll go for two weeks, etc.

    Good luck!
