Self Sabotage

I started my nofap journey back on March, and I had never really gone through a propper streak, even when I had my longest, 40 days, I still browsed some triggering websites here and there, so my streak was invalid.

What I noticed is that after my first relapse I ended in this endless cycle of 3 to 5 days relapses, and it wouldnt stop.

I often comvinced myself that I was too weak, or to messed up to do nofap.

My brain always made excuses, saying PMO wasnt a big deal, and after I had my relapse I regret it.

What I came to realize is that I and I alone sabotaged my own streaks.

I woukd knowingly watch provocative material to then get triggered to then relapse. It makes no sense but it was like another side of me was trying to sabotage my nofap journey.

Learning from that mistake I am proud to say this is my first week ever with no PMO whatsoever. And despite having urges here and there I have been capable of maintaining control because I have avoided all triggers.

    These triggers can be...

1-Craigslist or sites of that nature, 4chan etc.

2-Following provocative users on Instagram or Snapchat (I unfollowed all of them)

3-Any porn site or site that may contain some porn to some extent.

4-Lingering thoughts, every time I get porn thoughts I shake them off and think of something else, its normal you get these because your brain needs its fix and its trying to view porn in your head.

5-Any contact with people who make you Masturbate on the phone or on the internet, I deleted and blocked these women.

To keep busy I work out or find things to do, and when I got nothing to do I take a long nap. Believe it or not it helps.

Also peaceful music of your liking.

I hope these tips help. Good luck to all of us!

Congratulations for your 7 days no PMO !

It's very good you managed to see your triggers. It's normal for your brain to want to get you back in the rut of pmo. It will only get better with every streak (even if you do relapse), because you're rewiring and showing yourself that you CAN do it.

I especially like no. 4 - you're brave to have noticed that
