So obviously we all know about NoNutNovember but I've seen a lot of other examples recently of NoFap being brought up on social media.

On TikTok there's always been this trend of people walking into the bathroom mirror and saying "Day 1 of...." followed by "Day 2 of...", "Day 10 of..." and so on, it's used as the basis for some sort of joke, such as "Day 1 in Soviet Russia" and progressing then their voice or outfit changing as the days go on.

Recently there's been these popular videos of people doing this but saying "Day 1 of no masturbation". Then the day count doesn't increase, they just keep walking into the bathroom saying "Day 1 of no masturbation". The joke being that they are doing it every day. Now I don't have a problem with people MO'ing every day if they don't find it addictive, the video isn't the problem, it's just that in the comments there are an overwhelming number of people talking about how addicted they are to masturbating, people posting their streaks and people talking about how they can't get past a couple days. I don't think they even know what NoFap is, they are just suffering massively from porn addiction.

I've always thought that soon in the future society as a whole will come to recognise how bad this porn epidemic was and the effects it had on the younger generation. But with this level of awareness amongst these teenagers who are so badly afflicted, we might see it sooner rather than later.

What are some times that you have seen stuff like this online outside of the NoFap community?

  2. This actually surprises me. Aside from NoFap, I've only really seen a lighthearted attitude towards porn/masturbation. I'm glad that people are starting to see this as a problem, and that it is being mentioned, even in the context of a joke. I'm not glad, of course, that such a large volume of people have this problem.
