God said "I created light and darkness. Good and evil." God created evil, or at the very least, allows it. For a purpose. To show us a difference. God knew the forbidden fruit would be eaten. He put it there for that reason. You can't know good unless there is evil to compare it too. You can't understand salvation without suffering in this world that you'll be saved from.
