    Is it ok to masturbate sometimes without porn just using your imagination? If so then how often? Or does this really slow down the healing?
     
  2. Masturbating will slow it down or prevent healing. Stopping porn is going to help but you likely have reduced sensitivity at the same time.

    What would your advice to me be? I think it is much more important to quit porn than masturbation? What if I can't completely stop masturbating all together?

    If it’s PI then the first step it to kill, slaughter and fully eliminate Porn from your life. Think of porn as your merciless enemy.

    The next step would be to stop or as much as possible absolutely minimize M. If you do M then try to control your mind to think about “normal” sexual activity that might be a way to help rewire your brain. But me personally I would stay away from M altogether and try for a reboot period that really make sense to you.

    What happened to me is when I used to PMO all the time I couldn't actually masturbate without it, I couldn't even masturbate thinking about porn thoughts. But when I eliminated all porn and artificial sexual stimulation I went in to a flat line that lasted around 4 days to a week. But eventually it got to the point that the thought of porn extremely aroused me. The thing is I always masturbated thinking about realistic fantasy, but what happened is a little porn thought would creep in and highly arouse me. When I say porn thoughts it's not actually full blown porn. I used to be addicted to these babe channels for years and I would imagine I was having all kinds of sex with these woman that are models. But I mean I have watched these woman naked bending over in front of a camera and stuff like that, so a lot of those memories are stored in my brain. But I would imagine this is very harmful to imagine things like this while masturbating?

    Ideally you want to reboot / rewire your brain. Stay away from Porn and M would be my recommendation - just focus on your winning streaks. And eventually you will be free as long as you can attack this like an addiction. Treat it all like an addiction and do all you can to find positive replacements for PMO.

    I’m very glad you at least have some success to reference focus on your successes. This will take time be patient with yourself and try to understand as much about all this as you can. Do some more research and read up on your brain on porn and on the forum Keep fighting- you can get there.

    I started to get PIED but fortunately it’s not been an issue for me lately.

    Stay away from Porn and M as much as you can and you will allow your brain to rewire.

    Thanks man.

    Something I had an issue with a while ago though was I thought porn and masturbation were just as bad as each other. I don't want to get in to the mindset that masturbation is as bad as porn, as I don't actually think that is the case?
     
  8. Make your plan your own, if you want to start with just staying away from porn and then working on masturbating later, that's fine. Do what works best for you and gives you the greatest chance are success. You can always adjust.

    I was just focusing on staying away from all porn and artificial sexual stimulation for a while. I kept getting streaks of around 20 days away from it before I relapsed. The thing is I also have to stay away from alcohol to have any success at no porn. But after around 20 days I always ended up going out drinking with friends, waking up the next day hungover, and then going in to a PMO binge when I was hungover. For some reason a hangover from alcohol makes me extremely horny. So this is why I have also stopped drinking.

    But I feel like just stopping porn isn't improving my ed as fast and as good as it used be. I think maybe stopping masturbation also might make me have better results?

    Something else I notice is after I masturbate once I usually feel more turned on and have better erections after I have MOed once. Usually I never MO just one time, I usually always end up MOing 2,3,4 times in a day, and the worrying thing is I seem to enjoy it more the second time more than the first.
