Why do I fail everytime I swear not to do PMO?

I'm just like you. I am a perfectionist. I went to counseling and explained this problem with my therapist, who helped me with my PMO addiction. He told me that relapse is apart of recovery. I was uncomfortable with this statement because I almost felt that it meant watching porn is expected from a person who is trying to abstain from porn. Now I look at it and try to think of it this way; there will never be a perfect porn recovery program for everyone. And until the addict decides that he, or she is 100% committed to living a porn free life, they will eventually fall back into relapse. Everyone makes mistakes because we're not perfect, but not everyone makes the mistake of giving up. I truly believe that we can live happier lives without porn. It has ruined my life and that is all the reason I need to stop completely. You can do it, bro.

 

You fail every time you swear not to do PMO because it is easier to say that you won't do it than actually not do it. You need to 1. Get a porn-blocker (There is a great one called "K9") 2. Find things to distract you like a hobby; go out and exercise, hang out with some friends, whatever you can do to distract you. 3. Continue to write in this journal and read threads on nofap.
