There will be days like that for me as well and I will treat this group as my friends where am truly truly accountable. This will be my first weekend on this challenge and weekends are the time when we usually have all the time to ourselves (including many Friday evenings). Hope we all stay focused and keep ourselves busy with some activities.

  3. That's an intersting point of view. It's worth to analyze myself. I think, I tend to give in this pressure...

@artifact , you seem to have got out of this pressure. I'd like to know more about that process that brought you to the insight to be happy as a single...

@discovery , thank you for this literature tipp. As I have a bunch of other fears, I am really interested to read that book...

  4. Yesterday, I felt some physical urge which let my thoughts circle around and around sex and masturbation. I noticed how sexualized my thoughts are. In the evening I was in the gym looking at all those nice and well trained guys, trying to get to see there bulges. Three days without porn and I am trying to find it somewhere else out there, in the real world. How to quit that?

On the other hand, today I was much more relaxed. Working, cooking a good dinner and then reading what's going on in this group are good distracion :)

  11. Bro focus on installing new discilpines to your life - sleep, exercise, meditation and diet. Fasting and modifying food is huge for me. Staying off garlic and onion. If i eat it I know ill have some temptations to deal with.

  12. Hey @Minnesotan , heads up! And analyze why did yo relapse. What happened right before? In which situation and state of mind have you been? When we are relapsing, it's mostly because there is a gap some kind of emptynes we try to fill - with P and M. At least I know that well from my own experience.

So try to fill this emptyness with something meaningfull, that takes you away the urge. Choose a new hobby or and make it become a habbit to preserve you from P and M. Very much the way @discovery referred from the book against fears in a post a bit more above in this thread: 35 and Older Accountability Group Go to the gym, or cook a good meal - even with onions and garlic (@RightEffort , I strongly disagree ;-))

  13. Yes, changing my diet is what made me change everything, first diet, then came the rest, no alcohol, no drugs, and now nofap, but diet is key. I´m off garlic and onions too, as a result I don´t have to use deodorant, never have BO, and food is just overall better.

Guys you want to know what fighting urges is.... I live in a very small touristic town, its empty most off the year because of the winter, now is summer, Beaches (supermarkets, streets, banks, you name it) are just full of beautiful have naked women... and Im here, so if you are in a city and they are wearing clothes, get your act together! get your hand off your d*** and think about me surrounded by temptation on the flesh, I feel like a chicken on fox town.

    YES, YES! Love it.

Yes, read it! It is excellent! And a classic, at least in my country.

What is the deal with garlic and onion? I've never heard about them being bad for you. Why would they cause temptations? And, most importantly... how would you keep the vampires away? I LOOOOVVVEEE BOTH!!

That is rough, man! Rough! Hang in there!!!

So I've been writing a bit about the keto diet I'm on. Yesterday I had a priceless experience. Really seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. As I mentioned before, there are two big benefits to the keto diet. One is weight loss, and the other is sustained energy throughout the day, as your body burns fat when you need it instead of relying on carbohydrates that you need to keep eating.

I weigh myself once a week, and at my last weighing I had lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. So I was aware of the first benefit. But yesterday, I really got to see the second benefit first hand. I went on a 5 hour hike to a nearby mountain with 4 other guys, and the difficulty was moderate. We finished around 3pm. All throughout the hike, the other guys needed to keep eating all kinds of snacks, and we stopped for lunch around 1pm. I had a normal sized breakfast around 8am, and then did not eat a single thing until the hike was over and I was almost home. During lunch they were all discussing in amazement how I didn't need to eat anything, and were shocked when I said I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast and wasn't hungry. I explained the keto diet to them, and they were really interested. Not because of the weight loss, but because of the freedom from having to rely on quick sugar to keep going. I suffered a lot as my body made the transition from carbs to keto- low energy, depression, lack of motivation, sex drive, etc. But now I am here! And Sunday and Monday I will be doing a big two day overnight hike. I am so ready for it.

  17. LOL!!!
Well in eastern medicine both were use as remedies, even in the Peruvian mountains were red onions are so common in old times they were use to cure a lot of breathing and blood related illnesses, so they were remedies, things that you are so suppose to take if you are sick. Garlic is super strong and vey good for a lot of things, but is like cannabis, is great as a remedy, but when you are healthy you are just making your body "work" harder to consume and to work with something that is not suppose to.
I did a bike trip once, 2500km a long the Andes Mountain Range, no hotels, no cars, no busses, just bike, let me tell you the firs km where very rough, once a change my diet, everything changed, and the biggest thing was garlic, my body just starting rejecting everything that had it, it really made a difference.
