Is there a link someone knows of that explains what the body is doing during reboot? Like day 1..you are feeling this because this is happening Day 6..you are restless and can't sleep because you're body is whatever and your brain is getting pissed because it can't get a fix Day 10...flu like symptoms because you are going through withdrawal You get the idea! And obviously it's different for everyone. Any info would be great Thank you
Body is adjusting change in behaviour, and expected chemical process. When deprived, it starts to show symptoms.
Reboot is hell, especially in hard/monk mode. Your mind and body desperately demand dopamine/oxytocin/vasopressin fix. When they're not getting it, they try to force you back into the "comfort zone" by acute withdrawal symptoms. After a few months of not giving up, your mind and body recalibrates to new reality (no quick D fixes anymore). Then true causes of your addiction come to light, "giving" you PAWS (post acute withdrawals symptoms). Here is very things get real hard. It's up to you to identify these roots of addiction and address them properly this time around or you'll feel miserable and relapse when you can't bare the pain anymore.
Here's the link to what is going on with your brain during recovery: https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.p...nence-to-cure-your-brain.233726/#post-2064605
After reading that link... I must admit... I feel depressed and sick to my stomach. I've been into this crap since I was 13 at least. I'm now 36. Ive had a few periods of nofap but eventually gave in. To think I've been responsible for all this damage to my body that it can take months or years if not longer to heal is.. Sobering.
It's not so bad. Even the worst cases (24 years of addiction) normalized their pre frontal cortex within 185-314 days period. I think that's very good news. No permanent damage done.
