I'm 14 years old, I've been addicted to porn for almost a year and half right now, and it's been months since I've tried to quit, I mean I've tried my best, I've tried everything I can to quit, and don't know how to quit, what the heck can I do to quit? The longest streak for me was 7 days, I'm trapped, I'm stuck right now, there's nothing I can do about it anymore, I've went back to my old fapping habit again, it's so annoying that this addiction keeps controlling me, I've lost all of my self-control, I always have a desire to look at porn, I want to quit, but at the same time it keeps controlling me, what should I do about it?
Hey man, how are you ? I'm on my third time and i'm going to tell you how i had "success" in this time. On the first two times i was worried about the 90 days, i was couting EACH day. I was watching myself 24hrs DAY. And guess what ? I couldn't handle 8 days. STOP thinking about days, try to live a little bit. Do something you like it, DONT WORRY about the days, If you are going to fall or if you are going to succeed. Your mind bring this thoughts 24hrs to make you tense, nervous, to generate doubt, etc. Don't try to combat or fight against your mind, it's impossible to win. But you can get busy with something you like it. Living EACH day, not POLICE and WATCH EACH DAY.
It's like my 400th something trial to try to quit, but you succeeding by the 3rd time is quite surprising tho congrats, I don't know how you managed to succeed so early wow, also I always worried about the number of days and I didn't really think that was a problem at first but now I do realize it's one. I think I should stop doing that, because when I'm in constant worry about the days, as you said it can make me nervous or tense, but I'll try to occupy my time with activities, and keep myself busy everyday, thank you man.
Most of the blockers I find are easy to delete, or control, I didn't really find a blocker which was impossible to delete, or a porn filter that requires pin numbers and stuff to delete, also I know so much about the negative effects of porn, but I never really built new habits, I have to keep myself busy all the time, since we're in quarantine also it's a bit difficult but I'm never giving up mate. thanks
That's very good advice, I should believe that I have control over it, in order to build confidence to quit, that's useful advice here, thanks mate.
What are the emotions that trigger you and lead to a relapse? Write down the date/ time of a relapse and then notice the pattern emerging. It could be performance anxiety , separation anxiety or self esteem issues...
Change some crucial habits. I recommend having a healthy sleeping schedule (this is important), put blocker on pc to eliminate triggers (if you need more informations ask me), and delete social media (just keep messenger lite if you use facebook). Take some good hobbies you find interesting to keep yourself occupied. Follow me and check my posts i have some useful informations for your reboot. Also feel free to send me anytime for questions! Good luck
You are saying EXACTLY the most important stuff, yeah people do long streaks they forget why they're quitting, you need constant reminders
Esma3 ya mo3taz: Don't start chains: don't start chains, they're very hard to spot so you need to be in the lookout New habits: they're crucial, replace bad habits with new ones Will power Keep reminding yourself why you want to quit: keep a peice of paper nearby and read it every time u get an urge Speak to me, you obviously recognize me at this point, just speak to me I can help you Listen to music: it's an urge killer, besides cold showers Every time you look at that search bar to look "girls" as ya not porn, consider the keyboard an instant relapse button Keep learning from your mistakes: why did u relapse last time? Avoid it. What was the environment when you relapsed? Stay away from it
Hey man, proud of you being so wise and insightful you wanna get rid of this addiction at such an early age!
Hi there! First of all, great job on being 14 and deciding to quit! That's amazing. Most people wait WAYYY longer before they realize how harmful their addiction is. I had the same issue with installing blockers: I would install one, and then obviously since I knew the passcode, I could just change the settings when I wanted "just a little peek." Here's what you have to do: Find a blocker that is strong. The key is to create a password you know you won't remember. So let's say you write down the following passcode or something like it: jl20!3*sjfle0b188570 Write it down on a piece of paper. Then, set your password on whatever porn blocker software you have to be that password. Then, AS SOON AS IT IS SET, and after you do a quick test to make sure the blocker is working, erase that password and rip that piece of paper into tiny shreds and toss it in the trash. If you need to take extra steps to make it impossible to get rid of the blocker, then take those steps. Do whatever is necessary. Now, this won't fix your addiction immediately, but it will remove the option of watching porn on your phone/computer, and it will also remove that option in your mind. You still have to focus on constructive activities—you'll have lots of extra time since you won't be sitting watching porn! Best wishes.
The key to changing any habit is to first change the thoughts. If you do not allow yourself to even think about doing something, it will be well nigh impossible to do it. If, on the other hand, you fantasize about doing it--the temptation will overcome you. Actions follow from thoughts. Do not, therefore, allow your thoughts to linger on forbidden themes. As soon as the unwelcome thought has entered your mind, immediately reject it. In my experience as a Christian, that is the time to call on God for help, asking Him to give me a new heart (new desires and thinking)--and when God sees that I'm making a decided effort in that direction, He will help me. As the old saying goes in English: "God helps those who help themselves." Stopping a habit takes real effort. The effort is in the mind. It is a matter of changing the thought habits. If you do not allow yourself to think about doing something, you have built a strong barrier against actually doing it. You cannot do something without choosing to do it, and you cannot choose to do it if you did not think about doing it or plan on doing it ahead of time. The best part of changing the thought habits is the way that changes the body's urges. When you do not think about sexual topics, your arousal in that direction will be lessened. No, it does not go away completely, but it becomes more manageable. Two more tips on reducing the base passions: 1) Do not eat spicy foods. Black pepper, white pepper, chili powder, and other spices irritate the bowel and cause inflamed desires. 2) Reduce as much as possible your consumption of animal products. Animals contain hormones. Eating meat or eggs gives you a dose of those hormones and consequently increases your desires. Buddhists, who believe all desire is bad and to be avoided, have a list of five pungent herbs that are no-no's for them, showing that they recognize the link between diet and desire. It's real. Watching what you eat, though, is only going to help make things easier. The real win is in the ability to stay in control of your thoughts. Even thinking things like "I don't want to do this" ends up with still thinking about the this--which is nearly as dangerous as thinking about actually doing it. Just don't think about "it" at all--reject the first thought and focus on something else. Don't let your mind wander! Keep it focused in the positive direction. You can do it!
Why don't you install a porn blocker in your brain. It's like you need a gun to fight. Your yourself are strong enough to fight it yourself. This will make you even more mentally strong and disciplined that will also help in other things of life
