Hi guys I just thought I would post this video as an extra to this thread. It has also helped me, not specifically to nofap, but for my work ethic in general. Of course, a strong work ethic could also help you with outlasting urges. I recommend skipping the first minute, as it's promotional stuff, but this video is really useful and is good motivation. Eric Thomas really is a brilliant motivational speaker.
Hi, I really don't like this kind of videos. Like so called "inspirational" and so positive. Like you can do great things. nah. What's more important is that it helps you and it seems to have worked according to so close you are to your goal! We are going to celebrate pretty soon !
I really like what you said about making a strategy or plan, the only time I have been able to stay off porn for any length of time is by making a plan. In fact, I need to make a new plan.
No we can't. But in the eyes of the human beings, I guess it's possible but rare. I'd rather advocate for the idea that one should not be deceive by what he dreams of. If you want to be an astronaut for instance, it's gonna be hard, almost impossible. Besides we aren't all equal.
Excellent thread and props for the ET video; though I personally prefer his older videos as his style becomes repetitive and loses substance.
NoBrainer, I have my journal and the program I've developed based on your suggestions, a guy named WilliamOneAndDone, and the nofap starter kit on Reddit. Just like you I put my journal and program in my signature.
thanks for the tips dude, i apreciate it. sometimes the hardest thing in our life is the best thing that what we want
Hey Esteban It's been a while. Sorry I didn't respond to your comment earlier. Although I have been thinking about what you said lately about wanting to become an astronaut. Indeed it would be very difficult, but not impossible. One thing I mentioned at the beginning of this thread is if your situation is twice as hard as the person standing next to you, you'll have to try twice as hard as them. That's just the way it is. So say you wanted to be an astronaut. You could start training by doing an aeronautical engineering degree or by becoming a pilot. As technology advances further, human input in space is becoming more redundant. However NASA are still sending people into space, so by that logic, there's still a possibility for you. You mentioned that one should not be deceived by what one dreams of. That is good advice, even if I'm not sure I agree fully. The moral of the Eric Thomas video was if you're willing to put in the work, time and time again, for years and years, then you should be able to achieve what you want out of life. Unfortunately this is not always the case, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. I think you would be much happier if you failed having known you gave something your all, than not failed in the first place. That quote "Those who say they can and those who say the can't are both usually right". Best Regards NoBrainer
The problem is that you imply everyone is equal and healthy. If I'm a disable person in a wheel chair I cannot become an astronaut for instance. Anyway, I appreciate your responses You can do this. You WILL do this. You MUST DO THIS !!
Great advice.... i m thinking of implementing some of the points mentioned.... Relapsed today but reading this post has given me a little bit of confidence.... Thanks for the practical suggestions...
Let me take a hardcopy of that post. Awesome. That's why I'm here on the forum. It's always good to get input that directly relates to my struggles. It's one thing to get encouraged by others. But another thing to get encouraged by someone that's been there, done that. I believe that is why I'm able to connect with my sponsor. I sure appreciate all the input and life stories and the journals on this forum. Let's keep moving forward.
Yes, that's a good point. Underlying your willingness to work on your dreams/ aspirations must be an achievable goal to work towards.
Your welcome GhostArm! I'm sorry to hear that you relapsed. Although part of what I've highlighted in the original post is the importance of analysing why you relapsed, to prevent the same mistake from happening again. You may have given in in your mind, but there was most likely a series of steps you went through before you did the full PMO. I'd encourage you to identify what those steps were, so that in future you can put up more physical or mental roadblocks to help prevent a relapse. Regards
There you have it.. The best guide to your nofap journey.. Really really helpfull.. I specially like the part where you say dont experiment with flatline.. Thats one big mistake many do.. Cheers nobrainer.. Awesome stuff
