Didn't think I'd have to mention this part, but it looks like I do... Remember that, because we are on NoFap, we don't edge. There are MANY other ways of sexually transmuting energy without edging, such as chakra/kundalini yoga/meditation, which is what I do, and it works just fine and I'm reaping the benefits of sexually transmuting the sexual energy into the brain. Sexual transmutation is NOT only done through edging.
Okay, semen is broken down (nutrients) and reabsorbed into the body if not released. It's basic male biology. It will not kill or harm you to not ejaculate. So ejaculation is not necessary. If that were true alot of men here would be in the hospital. Comon. What kind of websites and doctors do you all visit? Hn. Edging is also rationalization for your addiction. If you want to beat an addiction you must stop and stay away from any form of stimulation which will cause you seek it. It's all discipline. What you do is a choice. You can choose to beat this addiction or choose to stay a slave to it. Your call. Stay strong everyone!
Ah I now understand what you mean by rationalising but I never mentioned edging and I don't want to do that either as I have heard that is bad. @Sun Bro It was just the way skydoge said I'm obsessing about things when I clearly wasn't. IGY wasn't rude so sorry if it sounded like it was a pop at him as it most certainly wasn't. Look at the end of the day we are all after the same goal so I apologise to anyone who I have offended and can we all just put it under the rug thanks for all the help though as this site is great and people are really helpful.
Definitely agree with you that the way certain people say things here does not help at all. Too many conclusions jumped to, which in the end causes a sense of condescension in ones tone, which can also strongly come across as though they think they are somewhat higher and better than others; something that seems to be happening on here a lot lately if I'm honest with you.
Just to clarify, edging is not sexual transmutation. Sexual transmutation is the releasing of sexual 'energy' from the body. Although this can be achieved through sex (obviously), not all of us can have sex... due to having no one to have sex with. It is a common misconception to think edging releases sexual energy, when surely edging creates sexual energy due to stimulation of the sexual organs. However there is no release, so the tension just builds indefinitely, until the person either stops and goes to do something else, or they go over the edge and orgasm. This is one of the reasons edging is so detrimental to the rebooting process, as the brain needs to be starved of sexual stimulation for a period of time in order to recover from the addiction. Can we not make unnecessary judgements about people please? There was no evidence to say that kamado86 was rationalising, so why accuse him of it? I thought you were opposed to labelling people and assuming they should conform to a particular demographic Sun Bro. I sympathise how this forum can seem depressing. People relapsing all over the place, and the usual concerns over abstaining from ejaculation etc cropping up over and over again. But that is really what we have to expect from fighting this addiction. We've all come from bad stages in our lives (points where we couldn't control our porn use/ masturbation when we wanted to). Why should we be any less supportive to someone who is only in the early stages of recovery? Demeaning and belittling comments such as this are inappropriate and unhelpful.
Oh I know this bro. I just didn't bother going into detail. Yes, Taoists express that edging is done to build up the sexual energy, and then afterwards, to transmute that built up sexual energy. Like I said, I don't edge, I use other methods to transmute sexual energy such as chakra meditation and others things. Saying that edging was a way of transmuting sexual energy was just a lazy expression, without going into the real know how of it all, assuming that most people knew already. To clarify again, I don't advocate edging, as there plenty of other ways to sexually transmute energy, as also explained by Taoists.
From my knowledge semen retention isn't bad as "unused" sperm cells are sent back or wasted (I remember reading something when doing Biology) The more you "save" the more you will have "come out" - just like saving money. Alot of people try this and as a result fap again... Or you could see your doctor and ask for his advice - a medical professional!
@kamado86 - thanks mate. Mostly, I wanted to put in a definition to clarify what Taoism is for those that are unaware (it was a verbatim quotation from Wikipedia). IGY
I've never had a wet dream in my entire life. Not everyone gets them. I could go a whole year without O and I would never have a wet dream the whole time.
I didn´t read through all the comments, but I used to practice the retention after reading about it in a Mantak Chia book. It involves putting pressure at the base of the scrotum when you cum. I did that for a couple of years, but no matter how long I held it, semen would escape. I was seeing a therapist at the time, a woman, and I told her about it. She thought that it wasn´t good for me, as she said I had a history of denying myself and holding back too much already. Who knows? I would´t trust myself with it today. I think not masturbating is the best thing for me now, rearranging my brain. It´s not easy, like the first week was, but I´m still Fap free.
Many authorities criticize Mantak Chia's recommended practice of pressing behind the scrotum during ejaculatory orgasm. This blocks the internal urethra just when the ejaculatory contractions are pushing hard to shoot semen out, and this puts potentially damaging fluid pressure on all of the delicate structures upstream. This isn't semen retention, but rather semen blockage. Of course, nothing of the sort happens when we refrain from fapping at all.
I don't need to read any article or anything to tell you that's utter bullshit. Retention requires discipline, which in itself has been linked to a growth of your pre-frontal cortex. Orgasm itself spikes dopamine in your brain to the point where it de-sensitizes it; a lot of guys on here including myself would say it de-sensitizes your dopamine receptors to the point where it throws your entire brain out of balance. Dopamine is a VERY important neurotransmitter in your brain, and over-stimulating it could have dangerous consequences like a lot of guys on here have noticed. Besides, let's face it... if it needs to come out, it's gonna come out one way or another. Your body isn't stupid, in fact it's a lot smarter than you are. Just sit back and trust it.
I've been practicing semen retention for 21 years now. However, I think it's important to clear up something that hasn't been mentioned in this post. Semen retention involves two distinct processes. The one part of it is abstinence, ie going for a period of time without an orgasm. The other part is orgasming without ejaculating, which is called controlled ejaculation (lets call it CE for now). Personally I find abstinence version of semen retention really hard to do (as most of us do). It can be frustrating and I think this is why it's so important to focus on breathing, do exercise, channel your energy into achieving your potential etc. Perhaps if you don't have healthy outlets for the build up chemicals or energy in your body this can lead to problems. But it seems to be a really important part of rebooting and revitalizing your system. CE is a different kettle of fish. This is what OlderGuy is referring to here: Controlled ejaculation can be done by pressing the fingers against the urethra, below the scrotum. But the most reliable and safest way to practice it is to keep squeezing the muscles at this same point below the scrotum during orgasm, much in the same way you would squeeze those muscles if you were holding in the need to go to the toilet. It's essentially one long Kegel exercise. Practicing CE does NOT leave you with the same issues as abstinence. Firstly, although you're not ejaculating, you are getting to have an orgasm, so you get the dopamine hit you would get during ejaculating. In fact the reason that a lot of people are drawn to CE is the promise of longer orgasms or even multiple orgasms. Secondly, even though you retain a lot of your semen, some of it gets flushed out with your urine after orgasm, so you don't get the same build up of fluids and chemicals you get from absitnence. If you do CE properly there is nothing about it that is unhealthy. Plus you're less likely to get anyone pregnant. With a real life partner it has all sorts of benefits, in fact, and feel free to message me if you'd like to learn more. What is unhealthy is combining it with PMO, which is where I went wrong. And which I'm now in the process of correcting thanks to NoFap and all you guys Hope this helps to clarify your original concerns @kamado86
So you mean the best thing to do is just not masturbate or anything and just chill out and not worry about circulating it round etc?? that
Well i have been practicing kegels and i have noticed after a lot of practice i can have multiple orgasm from just tensing that area, so you do a kegel and focus your mind on your prostate, and after a while it begins to pump and the feeling of orgasm comes but without ejaculation...Just had one for like 15 minutes!! Just wondering actually how safe this is for nofap, i've heard it can go in to the bladder and then you just pee it out, sometimes i get a tiny dribble etc but the orgasm is f***ing amazing!
