If you place your faith in the evidence of your senses doesn’t that give materialism almost total power over you?
Does sexual energy make you feel lustful, or does your conditioned reaction to it make you feel lustful?
Which strengthens your willpower more, fighting the urges to pmo, or trying to keep your attention in the present moment all day long, every single day ?
If you keep your attention in the present moment is there a space for pmo urges to enter and take hold of your will?
In which do you spend most of your time, in the present or in the past and future? And if your answer is “the past and future,” can you be said to be awake or dreaming?
When the urge to pmo arises try asking yourself, “Why do I want to escape from what I am experiencing, from what I am feeling, at this moment?”
Has all the running away, all the avoidance, all the wishing that your life was different, all the fighting, brought you peace of mind? Has it given you a strong willpower?
If you sit in an ice bath and try to fight the cold with your willpower, who is going to win ? You or the cold?
Do you believe your ego is stronger than sexual energy, the creator of life? If you fight this force, who is going to win?
Thank you for such a thoughtful thread, @Icewarrior . Bonfire by Lamb: Have you ever wondered why those days exist When life just seems to be a conspiracy against you I don't know where the answers lie But I try not to get hung up on the questions And I burn like a good bonfire In whatever I do Burn like a good bonfire And I know I'll come through The time is long overdue for a house clearing of the soul We all get so complicated in our lives When walking just walk When sitting just sit When being just be Above all don't stray from your chosen path And burn like a good bonfire In whatever you do Burn like a good bonfire And I know you'll come through Burn like a good bonfire In whatever you do Burn like a good bonfire And may peace come to you The time is long overdue for a house clearing of the soul We all get so complicated in our lives Burn like a good bonfire In whatever you do Just burn like a good bonfire And I know you'll come through Burn like a good bonfire In whatever you do Burn like a good bonfire And may strength flow through you
