I think I spend to much time on YouTube. I was watching it about 3 Hours aday during the election. I thought I would stop after Trump won. But still keep wasting time on YouTube. What should I do?
It could be your brain trying to trick you into trying to get a high by watching something you shouldn't. I'm not saying that you are doing that now, but in the hopes of maybe seeing something you don't want to. To much of anything is bad for you. Make a plan of action for the next time you want to watch a bunch of youtube videos then you don't have to stop and think what you are going to do, you just do what is in your action plan. You can do this and it sounds like you are doing a good job. Stay strong!
I agree with @ILoathePorn. Too much of something isn't good. It sounds like you are watching Youtube obsessively or perhaps compulsively. Your brain used to want to watch porn videos obsessively but now you have replaced that with Youtube. We can easily replace one addiction with another. Sometimes the new addiction can even masquerade as something positive. For ex. work, working out, church, etc. can all become addictions or at least unhealthy obsessions. The key is to get to what is the underlying or root issue that had you turning to porn in the first place. Typically it comes from having unmet emotional needs that we have learned over time to use porn to cope with or self medicate those difficult feelings or painful emotions. It really boils down to needing to cultivate healthy connection and intimacy with other safe people in order to meet your emotional needs (instead of trying to meet your own needs with the quick fix approach of PMO or any other addictive or obsessive behavior).
Yup! I'm also experiencing the same. Earlier when I was addicted I watched P on sites and then scrolled up n down to explore more. Now for more than 2 months I'm doing the same exercise on youtube. It's not breaking my streak but it's killing my valuable time. Earlier I was PMO addict. Now, a Youtube Addict............... Hehehhe
I stopped watching the mainstream media after I saw how badly they covered the US election. (I strongly disliked both candidates in case anyone is wondering). Eventually I stopped watching media period. In the same way that we are what we eat. What we listen to changes the way we think. If all you see is murder, arguing, and war on the news, then your brain will begin to think the world is a bad place. I highly recommend blocking the youtube comment section with 'stylish', a browser plugin. Youtube's comment section is a toilet. It is full of negativity.
As long as it is not erotic videos or something that make you horny somehow I see no problem, there are a lot of useful and interesting stuff in yt.
I made money mostly with tennis videos but recently has been shitty, my friends got a gaming channel/other and it got deleted recently but im going to help him get it bigger
