Hi.
Porn addiction has been a part of my life since my early youth, by now I am 32 years old.
I have been abstaining from pornography for over 30 days now. But, I must admit, that I wasn't able to come that far all by myself. When I hit the deepest bottom in my addiction, I went looking for help and found a support group nearby. Sharing my story with others, affected by the same addiction, helped me to stay sober. It must have been the first time in ten years that I have been free from porn for longer than two weeks.
There is a but: the support group is a twelve-step-group and the religious and spritiual part of it really alienates me.
As a convinced atheist, I am sure that no so-called "god" or higher power can help me with my addiction. I can seek help and inspiration in the stories and support of other people. And I can find solace by sharing my story. Recovery, though, has to come from within myself.

I joined NoFap.com just minutes ago. When I saw the title of this group, I knew: "Yeah. That's it."

If you want, we can make an accountability group for atheists. My current accountability partner is on the 12 steps as well. I don't see a lot of activity on this group.

Welcome Tobasco1310. This forum is not very active. However, I there are quite a few atheist and non-religious members here. It would be nice, if we could be a bit more connected.
