Normally my habit of laying in bed in the middle of the night revolved around me pmoning. Any tips on what to do if you are laying in bed in the middle of the night not able to sleep?
Do not watch porn. Do not even peek at porn. Reflect on your day. Reflect on your blessings. Keep your vision intact. Know your goals. Know you have started a journey in order to better yourself. Im proud of you, my brother.
I have a Sleep Diary. You write some details about your routine there and you can find out what habits make easier ou harder to sleep. Other thing that really helped me was to keep a regular schedule. I used to go to bed very late at weekends, and that made my mondays a lot worse, bacause I had to go back to normal schedule.
It's been a while since I laid wide awake not able to sleep but I was curious if anyone had any tips just incase a fap urge occured. My last streak I had a fap urge but o was well into my streak I was able to control it. Thanks though everyone
always go to bed at 22:30 and get up at 6 - it is scientifiacally proven it's the best time, due to your biological clock interacting with the sunrise/down. No screens an hour before you get up! Again due to the biological clock. Meditate before you go to sleep and work out for 5 mins after you get up. If you still have troubles you can drink chamomile tea - it calms you. If you are having lustful thoughts get up from bed and engage your mind for the necessary time read book or workout (enough to get you tired) and go to sleep again. Don't turn around in bed thinking bout PMO it leads to disaster!
Not being able to sleep was the cause of my last relapse after 8 days (my best). Its a vulnerable time and I now appreciate that next time I can not sleep I will need to be especially careful how I behave. It is all about acknowledging the triggers and identifying alternative ones that can be used instead.
Guided meditation leading to sleep. Go to Youtube. Search "The Honest Guys" and they have some good stuff to listen to. It has helped me before even when I was skeptical of it. I've listened to it on my phone before in the middle of the night.
This used to be a big problem for me. These are the things that work for me: 1. Get up and do something productive for an hour or so. Preferably something that I would have to do the next day anyway. E.g. tidy, prep dinner, pre read for university. 2. Listen to my audio bible Both of those are for averting temptation. 3. Stretch. Seriously, this is great for getting to sleep faster. Especially stretch your neck. Hope those help.
Sometimes this is a big problem for me. Try to clear your mind before you sleep. If you get any thoughts while laying down, push them away. Thinking too much has kept me awake even while I lie on the bed, so I clear my head before I head to bed. Works for me.
