Yeah, two blokes going from repairing a car to full-on intercourse on the boot in the span of 2 minutes. It truly doesn't make sense.

  2. It's insane how people wanna push an idea down people's throats even when it's not something they want to do. Porn isn't for everybody. just like cigarettes isn't for everybody. Not everybody that smokes cigarettes is going to die of lung cancer, however it has damaging effects when you do it. Porn isn't going to give everyone Erectile dysfunction, or delayed ejaculation or depression. But it is definitely harmful. For me quitting porn was the right thing to do, because I was addicted to it. I could have been addicted to literally anything, but I found porn first. So for people like me, I know the damaging side effects porn has caused me over the years, and it was no longer worth it for me anymore. I'm not anti Porn, just like I'm not anti cigarettes, ultimately it's a choice if you wanna do it or not but don't expect me to do it.

I'm assuming you're being provocative for the sake of being provocative. In which case, please try to be provocative a tad more responsibly. Don't go to an AA meeting to explain the benefits of a daily glass of red wine, because while that may be true, the wrecks of human beings there (OK, I generalise, but still) don't really need further kicking when they're already down. Did I really need to point that out?

Water is good for you, stay hydrated. Yes you can kill yourself with too much, too little will also bring you in for a visit. Do I need any citations? Who benefits from the propaganda? PORN IS GOOD FOR YOU! Not me, not any of us here.

Well ask you'rsefl can you do porn in moderation? its like saying doing harddrugs like cocaine in moderation is fine. Because it releases stress..

No you can't. And porn has definitlly health issues its creates erectile disfunction causes you to have less motivaiton in life because of chronic masturbation. But in theory you are right those things only happen if you do it A LOT.

However you have to ask you'rsef the question can you do porn in moderation? Because its even more adicted then cocaine its scientic proven that porn changes the brain.

The only reason people make these absurd articles is because people want to hear good things about their bad habits. Before I started PMO'ing, I read these "porn is good" articles and thought they were complete rubbish. I knew porn was bad before I started watching it. It wasn't until after I started masturbating that I decided to make that more exciting by adding porn to the mix. I felt guilty immediately after PMO'ing as a result. After all the progress I've made on nofap, porn doesn't excite me anymore. As soon as I visualize myself PMO'ing in my brain I'm immediately turned-off.

That's amusingly terrifying. Or terrifyingly amusing.

  9. Even if it increases your libido in general, how is that a health benefit? I suppose if someone has really low libido and their partner doesn't, that might be an issue, but for most average people, we are fine the way we were made. We don't need to use artificial stimulus to jack up our libido. If you have lower than average libido, cool. Good for you. No problem with that.

Amen! Yet again, fantasizing is something we can do all on our own, and we don't need something else to help us with that. And if you don't fantasize much or aren't good at it, so what? It's not necessary. Certainly not at all related to health.

Wow, that's insane. Can't believe they would flat out lie like that.

I was actually going to sort of give them this one, but NO! Porn is not stress relieving, masturbation is stress relieving. There's no need to add porn if you're just doing it to relieve stress. Not to even mention the fact that there are tons of other less harmful and addictive ways to relieve stress. Or, better yet, get to the root cause of your stress and change your life around to be less stress-inducing, rather than masking the problem with a porn or masturbation band aid.

Hm... I suppose that has been somewhat true for me. But it's also probably made me want to do weirder things in bed that I didn't even care about before, so in a sense, it creates a problem and then helps you fix it. Without porn, most average people would be pretty content with regular "vanilla" sex. Also, another thing that leads to more open conversations about sex is having one partner that you are committed to and who loves you, and over time you grow comfortable enough with each other to open up more and talk about those things more, just like any other aspect of trust building in a relationship.

Lol yeah, that's pretty solid evidence that something is good for you. "Women like it, too!"

I mean if it's backed by science, I'll give them that I suppose. I have a hard time believing that it could be backed by science though. Because first of all, rape is not often about someone being too horny to wait for sex. Its often not even about sex at all, but power and whatever other screwed up thing is going on in the rapists mind. But in other things, like sexual harassment and abuse and such, I don't understand how porn could be making that better. From my view of the world, it seems pretty clear that it's making it worse. And probably making rape worse as well, at least date rape scenarios, because porn isn't exactly the greatest teacher of consent. I gotta read what kind of "science" they have backing this up.

Yep! So do a lot of other healthy things. Eating good food, laughing with friends, going for a run, having sex with your spouse, etc. We've been given so much beauty and joy and goodness in the world to enjoy in a healthy manner, and we are really good at taking that gift and perverting it into something destructive.

Thinking of something as good or bad for you, especially with a list is a dumbed down way of thinking about things in the first place.

What is an addiction? It's when something is way out of balance. It doesnt always involve something completely bad, sex and orgasm isn't intrinsically bad but obviously porn with particular ways of conditioning your brain changes things. Food is good for you but eating sugar all the time is not.

  11. Hm... generally I would agree with your sentiment, but not when it comes to porn or cigarettes or hard drugs. There are some things that are bad for you and do not provide anything positive for you, aside from a temporary nice feeling that you could get from something more healthy instesd.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying don't avoid these things like the plague but to counter the "it's good for you" listicles I think this way of comparing should be addressed.

Also it depends on what you do with the thing. Experimenting in the lab with a drug is totally different from taking it inside your body. When it comes to porn maybe reading about it, like academically the studies and so forth which isn't the same as reading it might be comparable.

Absolutely! Some of the stuff I introduced to my wife was so embarrassing even during the thick of my addiction.
It’s funny that they mention that, yet the YBOP website states that the artificial stimulation you receive from porn has nothing to do with natural libido. It’s tough to see these types of articles as anything more than someone with no scientific background spouting off conclusions based on their own barely thought-out opinions.

  14. I'm not entirely sure what's meant by increased libido, I mean if anything for me my libido was ruined in a sense. Sure it seemed like it was really high all the time, but that seemed to be only with porn I could do it a lot and often, but when it came to regular sex or "normal" masturbation.... Not happening. lol

These people that try to justify porn as okay so they don't have to quit their addiction is ridiculous, they really need to stop making articles about this rubbish. I may as well say I'm a Doctor and can tell you all drugs including heroin are good for you, in a little thing called "moderation". ;)
