What is your emergency plan in case of strong urges?

  1. Hey guys,

    I was wondering what is your emergency/containment plan in case of super strong urge, like, when you're literally on the verge of relapsing or when you're brain is about to go into PMO auto-pilot?

    I need to have a solid emergency plan myself.

    The best things I've done so far is to call/text someone who understands your problem. Talking with people is a great help.

    A freezing cold shower and then going for a walk ! Trust me, that could save your life !

    Hold your breath till you suffocate . And do this again and again until you get the stregth to overcome the feeling

    What i usually do is:
    - Cold Showers
    - Take deep breaths
    - Immeadiately leave my computer (preferably my room altogether) to do something else like tidying up my room, reading or just go out for a walk.
    - Do some excercise
    - Although this requires a lot of strength and willpower, i imagine the person i wish to become by overcoming this addiction and thinking if the 5 second satisfaction will be worth hindering that process so i turn my attention to something else.
    - Repeat to myself over and over the monitor can in no way give me what real life interactions can.

    I wish I could workout but I have lower back issues. So, I open a book that makes me think about something

    1. Immediately stop seeing / imagining what sexually excites you.
    2. Imagine the best version of yourself, with a healthy life and relationships, and think if it's worth ending it for a 10-minute porn.
    3. Take a cold shower.
    4. Use this energy in some physical exercise, such as walking, running, kung fu, or gym.
    5. Breathe deeply and meditate.

    I only found cold showers, meditating, breathing exercises, wave surfing etc. Effective when I could manage pmo and urges better. Otherwise, the urges would remain in my head and I would simply go back to relapse. However, to deal with urges (or expected urges) on bad days I just go to the gym for at least 2 hours and completely wear myself out. I go to a small gym so I get some social interaction too since everyone knows each other. Then of course my pmo prevention plan is to only use electronic devices in public and during the day, and to keep them away during bed time etc. So I come back, I'm tired and sleep comes easier especially with nothing to access p.
