    Has anyone else experienced this?

Last year I woke up one day and the pain was so bad I had to stay home from work. I ended up going to a chiropracter for about two months, which did eventually alleviate the pain.

I believe this was on day 15 of a 90 day reboot. I did O from sex with my wife during this reboot and that was the only thing that gave me temporary relief. The chiropractic work did clear the pain during the reboot, although later on I relapsed for other reasons.

Anyways, I'm probably at about that point again and I'm starting to feel it. I still remember some of the exercises the chiropractor gave me to do, so hopefully that will prevent the exact same thing from happening.

But I'm just wondering if this happened to anyone else.

Not sure if this is the same type, but I've experienced lower back pain during reboots as well. It feels like it's coming from deep within the lower torso, around where the kidneys are. For me, the pain was never as bad as yours but it was definitely nagging and would be the worst a few days after a reset / relapse. Then it would gradually go away the further I got into my streak. I don't have any postural or musculoskeletal disorders as far as I know.

Western medical literature has very little to say about this phenomenon, but Chinese traditional medicine (TCM) has much to say about masturbation's effects on health, and also happens to explain this lower back pain. Just take it with a grain of salt as it is sort of pseudo-scientific. I don't have a very good understanding of their theory but I will try to summarize.

According to Chinese traditional medicine (TCM), lower back pain is expected in someone who PMOs. TCM views the kidneys as the center of the body's yin and yang, two abstract qualities or elements that are supposed to be in balance. According to TCM theory, when you masturbate you are upsetting this abstract yin-yang balance, thus causing health problems. TCM also claims that whenever you ejaculate, you are losing essence and vital life force that originated from the kidney area, and that such an imbalance will be reflected by lower back pain. Thus, from a TCM perspective, it is beneficial to ejaculate as little as possible for the sake of your health. Taoist practitioners back then believed that excessive semen loss resulted in premature aging, poor health, and general fatigue. Therefore, they tried to limit MO as much as possible in order to maintain their physical and spiritual health. I guess you could say Chinese people had already invented NoFap 2000 years ago haha.

I have found this to be a useful explanation even if I don't fully understand the mechanisms, I just know from experience that my back will hurt after I PMO.
As for managing the lower back pain, common-sense health practices still apply here. Eat a balanced diet with lots of vegetables, exercise moderately, and get enough sleep. The chiropractor exercises won't hurt.

    Hope this helps!

Read my thread that I posted several months ago addressing back pain. Your situation sounds pretty similar to mine when I was having it...

I have also experienced the same thing over the past years. Now to me it is obvious. Quitting PMO causes stress on the mind and body. It is usually one of the ways we cope with stress and other emotions. Take PMO away and what are we left with? stress and negative emotions. Muscles tighten up, even though you may not realize. For me, stress means tight hip flexors and hamstrings, those two equal back pain when too tight. Stretching those muscles usually helps temporarily. The real cure is time, wait it out and your mind will adjust to stress.

    Hope that helps
