What should I be doing during reboot?

I’m doing a 90 day reboot and wondering if there’s anything else I should be doing during this time bedsides avoiding PMO. Should I be trying to think of sexual thoughts about my fiancé every now and then? Any kind of exercise?

I would suggest cutting out all sexual thoughts for the initial reboot as it will only make things harder for you. How ever thoughts about your fiancé might help the rewiring process after the initial 3 months or so.

In response to anything else you should do my answer is anything that's as far away from PMO as possible. Anything that will relieve stress and is healthy for the brain.

This is just my opinion as a poorly educated psychology student dropout.

Avoid/limit activities that provide instant gratification:

    -mindlessly browsing reddit for hours
    -smoking weed, drinking excessive alcohol
    -binge watching television
    -excessive video games
    -eating fast food/junk food
    -imaginative porn-like fantasies

I found cutting back on these activities, reduced my fapping urges as well. It helped me focus on fixing my real problem, which is self-medication. It cornered me into finding activities that would promote self growth. With fapping/sex gone, your brain is going to be looking for an easy dopamine fix. If you need to watch movies all day to keep yourself from fapping, then by all means do it. But each week, try to grow in a direction that releases you from this 'quick fix' lifestyle.

This is just my personal theory, but I think that activities such as learning a new language, taking up an instrument, or getting involved in a new sport will help your brain adjust to nofap more quickly. Your brain shapes itself to it's surroundings on a physiological level (google 'neuroplasticity' and london taxi drivers). I believe that after giving up PMO, your brain is going to be thirsty for any type of stimulus that will make it feel better. Thus, it's the perfect time to take up new and exotic hobbies that you have been putting off your entire life.

When it comes to your fiancee, make sure she's on board with your reboot. But otherwise, there's a lot of anecdotal evidence in these forums suggesting that cuddling, kissing, and spending quality time with your partner will actually help you rewire quicker. Terry Crews talks about doing a 90 day reboot with his wife and they spent the time learning how to communicate with each other better. So go on some dates with your wife man.

And finally, do exercise. It is extremely good for your brain health. Make sure you take a multivitamin, and some fish oil too. There's evidence suggesting that heavy squats and deadlifts increase testosterone, or you can download a copy of p90x for something to work at in the convenience of your home. My advice for those who have trouble exercising: find a game that you love and a group of people to play with 2 or 3 times a week (dodgeball, basketball, hockey, etc.). If you just want to run and lose fat, 'couch to 5k' is a great way to start.

For my reboot, I took up German classes, resumed training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (used to go years before), lift heavy 3 days per week, eat a balanced diet, and reduced my TV/internet consumption in favor of reading. I try to spend time with friends at least a few times a week, and I'm looking into options at returning to school. Everytime I feel stuck during the reboot, I attempt to throw in a small extra challenge to stimulate some growth. It's basically a giant experiment I'm conducting on myself, sometimes the new stuff works and sometimes it doesn't. Overall, my outlook on life has drastically improved since I began two months ago so I believe it's working.

Hope this helps buddy, good luck

Sounds like a lot of good advice. I kind of wondered about whether or not I should be “exercising” my brain somehow. I developed a hunch that spending countless hours on my iPhone has likely caused a disconnect in my mind from reality and has made being intimate with a real partner more difficult.
