Hi all, I have been addicted to porn and masturbation for years and I was able to abstain for more than 2 months but I fell again 3 days ago. I am experiencing face tension and twitching and muscles tension especially in my face also I have chills do anyone had the same symptoms? Are they related to PMO or my nervous system is just breaking down?

  2. Hey welcome to Nofap :) I've had similar instances after reaching 1 month of nofap before relapsing. Just last week i broke a 31 day streak and noticed afterwards that i wasn't feeling as hungry anymore, and my performance at the gym plummeted (the amount i can lift has decreased). This may be a result of depression and sadness as i always experience these symptoms after breaking a good streak. Soon after breaking my streak i tend to enter a depressive state that usually lasts a few days.

Nonetheless i hope we are both able to defeat this addiction once and for all. We will defeat it TOGETHER. I look forward to reading your success story soon :) You are AWESOME!!!!!

  4. My pleasure :) I believe going to the gym will help tremendously. Not only is it good for the body but also the mind. It clears brain fog and gives you the motivation to perform other tasks during the day. If u feel uncomfortable going to a mixed gym than perhaps sign up to an all-females gym. I hope that through gym ur able to not only minimise your symptoms but also meet other goals :)
    You will do great :D

  5. I have not had the same symptoms and none of those are clearly linked to PMO, or to stopping PMO.
That said, your body went through a big adjustment (especially if you were doing hard mode - no orgasms) during that 2 months, then you reintroduced orgasm. Usually when we orgasm, we feel blissful for hours, or even days but eventually we get irritable. Our addict minds will start pushing for another orgasm, and that might leave us feeling irritable or tense.
The first 4-5 days after a relapse are usually the hardest but, for men and women, it takes about 2 weeks to fully recover from having an orgasm and the desire to have another. Could be that's why you're experiencing the tension.

And, yes!! Get to the gym (if you can do it safely). Exercise is one of the best antidotes to porn and masturbation addiction.

Thanks! I really feel down, it's been 4 days since my relapse and I started to watch porn and masturbate everyday again. I will start again tomorrow, feel like the 2 months (no sex or orgasms as well) were somehow in vain. I don't know about the tensions and twitching I feel like masturbation during all these years has messed up the chemical balance in my brain.

  7. Hang in there @Regina123
It may feel like it at times, but the two months were definitely not in vain. If nothing else, you would be even more addicted if you had masturbated everyday for those two months.
If you are a daily masturbator like me, then every day without Porn is a little win and every day without MO is a big win. :)

And yes, it's dopamine mostly, but also a lot of other chemicals that inundates our brains when we look at porn and when we MO, not much different than what a lot of drugs do. It absolutely does mess up the chemical balance in our brains.
