  1. As-salaamu 'alaaykum,

I have a question which I have not been able to find an answer to - in Islam, will we be held accountable for our thoughts ?

  2. I assume you are talking about bad thoughts then the answer is no unless you react to them.

From my knowledge a person that thinks good that in itself is a reward. If you do what you thought of then that's an extra reward ie you think of giving extra charity that's a reward once you have physically given it that's another reward.

A bad thought is not judged. HOWEVER if you do the bad thought then it's a sin. Ie you think of adultery - until you don't do the act it's not a sin.

However people might think oh until I don't do it am fine... that's a wrong ideology to have

I think it depends on the intention. Some people always think of something bad but they never do it because they don't dare to for example murder and I think that it is haram because they would like to do it and think good about it.

But some people are good people and sometimes they get bad thoughts suddenly coming up in their mind and this is normal with any person. The shaytan whispers bad things in our ears every day and a good human always tries to suppress the whispers. This is when it is not haram I think. But I am not a savant. These are my guesses.

Ramadan mubarak to all of you

Lets make dua that Allah makes this ramadan the best ramadan we have experienced so far, may he forgive us and may he give us the strength to change ourselves. Leaving our bad habits and may he erase our bad deeds (PMO :D) to good deeds, and may he acept all of our duas.

    Salam alaykum brothers.

    My plan/goal for Ramadan:
    1. Read Quran as much as I can (it means finish it multiple times Insha Allah)
    2. Memorize the last JUZ (small chapters) of the Quran in this holy month
    3. Salah - try to understand and learn properly to pray (if someone is interested I am following a course bellow is the link)
    4. Taraweeh every night
    5. Avoid media like Facebbok, twitter, reditt, instagram, and mostly PMO!
    6. AND eat healthy :p

Make DUA for me that I may reach my goals :)

As a Christian, I found this thread very helpful and especially the first video on the Quran's message (Surah al-Isra 32) about how that first sneaking a peak (lying to ourselves that our God is not watching) leads to more thoughts and eventually to porn which erodes and destroys our relationship with God and our fellow men. In the New Testament there is a similar phrase "Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." Regardless of our faith, the filth of porn coats our eyes and souls and prevents us from knowing God and his will for us.

As a brother in our struggle against PMO, may our God bless you and keep you.

    Press on regardless,
    Skynet

  11. Salaam All, stumbled up this thread. I'm about 11 days pmo free though I peeked 3x for a few seconds. Thankfully I didn't completely give in. My urges have been real and I'm having difficulty controlling them especially at night. But I am managing too. I can't stop thinking about sex. At this point I don't even want to look at porn its more about releasing. Slightest sexual thought is getting me aroused.

  14. Thank You @ezmon

I'm starting to get a stiff neck now and mild headaches. It just started today. :( I'm wondering if it's from withdrawal.

Hangn in there guys, its absolutely possible!

Its just a matter of time along with proper mindset. Adhkaar(with full devotion) for 15-20 mins in the last part of the night and before the sunset really helped me, along with complete proper faith(Tawheed) in Allaah Swt and of course skipping 5 daily obligatory prayers is never an option.
