Do you block Reddit?

If you are using windows then its easy(if you can type all of the subredits you wanna block), Google search "blocking website in windows using "host file"". Don't use the quotation though. then type all the addresses like 127.0.0.1 www.reddit/whatever, make a list of it.

 

I have blocked the whole site by OpenDNS, it used to be a huge timewaster for me.

I don't know if I am right but, I think Cold Turkey software might block certain keywords in the URL, you might want to check that out.

I have blocked it, simply because it is one of the largest sources of pornography on the internet.

 

I use Firefox and Leechblock. I block all of reddit, but then I whitelist some subreddits which are useful. That way, I can only access those subreddits. For example, I may allow /r/linux as I'm learning to use linux and sometimes if I google something the answer is in a reddit page, and it is annoying that I can't access it, and I might have to remove my block, for which I have a 256 random letter password. So it's nice to allow some useful subreddits this way.

Instructions if you want to try it, I think some other programs allow whitelisting too.
On Leechblock add to blocklist: (+ for allowing)
reddit com
+reddit com/r/linux
+reddit com/r/nofap
+...
etc.

If you have blocksite you can put in your own words. So you can block reddit front page but still go to reddit NoFap.

 

Reddit is good on one hand, lots of interesting subs to learn and share, but also bad because porn can be easily acessed.
