Suicidal Posts

Well, first of all you could have chosen a better title let's say.
As for the question.
They have no power on it. Nobody for example knows where I live, or anything specific about me.
I am italian, and 25. That's what moderators know. Should they call italian police
"There's in your country someone aged 25 who is trying to commit suicide, search for him".
The site is anonymous, and it is great for many reasons. Many people are more open about what they did knowing that nobody will ever discover who they are.
But this means that you never know where is the truth.
How can you be sure that I am italian and I am 25? Just because I wrote it on an anonymous site?
How do you differentiate between a troll searching for attention and one in needing of help?.
The only thing that mod can do in cases of depressed people is to contact them and suggest some anti-suicide site or numbers.
Trying their best to cheer them up a bit, to avoid that they experience loneliness.
But it's internet. you close the site, and you delete notifications, and no one from here will ever be able to contact.
It is something just too complicated to have specific rules.
They just do their best. And hope it will be enough.

In all seriousness, since my last relapse I had constant suicidal thoughts (wich is new for me) and even played around with some sharp tools at work, with the knife in the kitchen, just to find myself thinking "what's wrong with you mate?are we really at this point already? get back on your feet you idiot"
Then cried, I still remember last time I cried, about 4 years ago, is such an unusual event that I can keep a clear track of it, what disturbed me is that I was just laughing like a freaking sad maniac while doing it, total "I am losing it?" moment....

Please don't worry people, I seem to be a bit better today, still, this past two days....wow...I'm not planning on doing anything, but ideation has been a thing, and it never happened to me before, and to know that after ideation oftentimes comes planning, it kind of scared me of myself.
Then today I see this post, and got me pretty disturbed just by looking at the title....because is one of the things I considered although I though as just a silly idea...

I mean, this is not laughing matter, and I'm guilty of having treated it like it until it hitted me personally.
But as @fg4795 said, it's kind of pointless, and also hard to tell apart the wheat from the chaff.

I would kindly ask for people to avoid the matter and just try to cheer the people up, because realistically that's all we can do, even when we may be in a deep hole, we can still help someone else to take a step out of theirs, at least that's can I like to believe this community is all about.

 

You said all that had to be said, my friend. I am sorry for what you've gone through.
But you did, and you're stronger now. I am really glad for it.
And this serious matter is best known to the ones that are experiencing them, so it is indeed pointless to try to have "a plan".
We're all different , and reacts differently to the same plan.
We just do our best to make this community open for everyone, without judgement for anything, and with a kind word always.
That's all we can do.
That's all we should do.

 

It's interesting, hope is the biggest part of life for counteracting suicide that I've found. I had one night about 10 years ago I seriously considered committing suicide. I was just so sad about how much I was pursuing pleasure with things like pegging and other stuff that related to my porn addiction. I just really saw no hope for me. I figured I would pursue all this pleasure till I died of it so why live anymore, because it's all empty at the end of the day. I'm just grateful that God gave me hope in that moment and really ever since then I have had way more freedom than I did 10 years ago. While I still fall and I'll binge I've never been as chained to it as I was then. So I have had those feelings but I did cry out to God in that moment and I have seen him answer that cry when I was really in the depths of despair and I was given some hope.

 

This has happened on another forum i belong to. Its a closer community than here, far fewer people and almost all from my country, but we dont know each other other than username and our posts.
A guy took a load of pills, posted what he'd done then passed out. Within a couple of hours police bashed his door in, he was dragged into ambulance and his life was saved. Next day started another thread apologising and begging forgiveness etc.
I think the moderator reported his IP address. The first person to report him to the police just gave the website and username though. I guess the police can contact the site owner? Anyway, it was pretty well dealt with all round. So there are ways.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to get help well before it gets to that point.

 

This is exactly why I use temporary emails and I separate them from social media and my main emails, Learned this the hard way with Runescape case as soon as I put my 1st email there that shit's linked permanently if I want the account banned I have to give more personal Info to Jagex and I'm not interested, therefore I came up with a temporary email, for games and accounts like these, my only regret was not doing it sooner, case the more shit you have linked with your 1st email, the more shit the hacker next door will be able to use to get you screwed.

 

How do you even hack somebody? I'm assuming the hacking works if it's on a main email with connection to social media accounts? If not, can you still do something about it like find the address of the guy from the IP intel? And what if they use a VPN?

 

With Trump's ban in social media and more people looking for Alt Tech social media and decentralized peer to peer networks, things like that will only become harder and harder to do as time goes on, we have to make an effort right from the get go to not alienate anyone.
