I'm 6 months into a streak. I've noticed if I ever got aroused by something, like seeing something sexy in a movie or a youtube video that I didn't expect, or I have sexual thoughts in my head for whatever reason, or if I've had a couple of wet dreams and my sex drive is a bit higher than normal...

    My anxiety levels are higher?

I've been on and off nofap for 4 years. I noticed also than when I relapse and jerk off, my anxiety levels are higher and I'm plagued with anti-social thoughts that make my social anxiety worse for at least 1 week.

Why is this? It's not me worrying specifically about relapsing, it's simply a general feeling.

During my recovery, my sex drive is almost non-existent apart from some periods of arousal.

I think I know exactly what the reason is.

Did you have a sexual partner during those six months? My guess is no.

I think that you ‘don’t know’ how to express your sexual feelings. You are not comfortable with them. Getting sexually aroused is supposed to make you feel energetic and excited, fun. Good vibes. Sexy vibes.

Your brain is wired that sexuality is something to be experienced alone, by yourself in a dark room, preferably with screens. Sexuality as something not-social, very weird if you think about it.

This is what NoFap is all about in its core: ‘rewiring’ your brain so that your sexual feelings are connected to interacting with a PERSON.

You are on the right track, but if you don’t find a partner, this won’t change.

It's serious bro.It means you have depleted your health and you sit too much in front of the computer and maybe one too many stresses in your life causing anxiety for the future which in turn affects your nervous system.

I mean every time we indulge in PMO our health takes a hit and dependant on your genetics earlier or later there will be onset of symptoms. Those palpitations are one of the symptoms of GAD

If by anxiety, you mean the shakes. The random jump when someone calls your name. I've seen this in action and I've experience this a few times. Much more influences anxiety than Nofap. Of course, most here will relate them to each other. But I think there are factors that contribute more than simply abstaining for something. The sexual thoughts, the drive, those are common effects of abstaining like mild anxiety. But having it on a super level, maybe more is involved.

Most of the individuals I spoke with always had some situation, completely unrelated to Nofap, occurring in their life. I would not relate the two factors that easily. But then again, everyone is different.

What is meant by the anxiety if fear of other people, of nature, of world at large. It's when you are afraid to step outside out of your door even if you are as strong as bull, it's the fear inside your heart and worries in your mind and they are the best indicator of the evil effect of PMOing on your nervous and digestive systems....if they(symptoms) won't stop you in your evil ways you will come to the point of living hell on earth where you will prefer death to suffering.

    I think I exoe
I experience same too, I've been curious about the cause.

I feel this intense fear, anxious feeling in my heart, a little bit like a pain, fear, emotional hurt inside my heart.

Its always difficult to connect the dot as to why I feel so, but over time it happens when ever I relapse or had wet dream.
    The feelings is very disturbing.
    I need help

  11. I can only guess that it`s connected with porn neuropath`s that that lighten during such moments all your brain activity, reviving "good old days".

I've gone through all of this too- bulling, autism and super anxiety where I really thought i won't live through the school and I'm not scaring but rather encouraging you to stop PMOing and live your life without fears and regrets where quitting PMO is rather a first step to see the ladder. I wish I was told the truth about PMO much earlier, but everyone has their own path through life.

Masturbation without orgasm is called edging and it is the worst thing for your reward system in the brain, huge waste of time you are spending on it, fuzzy thinking next day or even next few days and nothing gives you joy those would be some of the aftereffects of masturbation without orgasm. And with orgasm it stops the desire to masturbate but ruins your health and energy, you become weak and cant even properly digest your food for a while. So in brief one ignites eternal fiery craving in your heart and brain whilst other is extinguishing that fire but takes your health as a payment for peace.

They can if frequent and for a while , but otherwise healthy active lifestyle can partially outweigh the negative effects of them. While sedentary lifestyle with disrupted sleep patterns may magnify them.

('In otherwise healthy adults, short-term consequences of sleep disruption include increased stress responsivity, somatic pain, reduced quality of life, emotional distress and mood disorders, and cognitive, memory, and performance deficits. For adolescents, psychosocial health, school performance, and risk-taking behaviors are impacted by sleep disruption. Behavioral problems and cognitive functioning are associated with sleep disruption in children. Long-term consequences of sleep disruption in otherwise healthy individuals include hypertension, dyslipidemia, cardiovascular disease, weight-related issues, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and colorectal cancer. All-cause mortality is also increased in men with sleep disturbances.
