I can't pass college without nofap too. Were together in this. We literally feel the same thing. We both feel brain fog.

  3. Everyone is different. It could be anything from a couple of days to a couple of months! Your length of addiction, your age, and other aspects can affect this.

    To speed things up:
    • Start your hard reboot. Now. Not tomorrow. Not later. Now!
    • Don't do porn. It doesn't matter how tempted you are, how loud that monster in your head is, just don't.
      No. More. Porn.
Delete your porn stash. Yes, all of it! Don't keep some "just in case", because there is no good case for porn.
Yes, I know that you "love" your porn, but delete it.
      Don't accept excuses.
    • Start exercising. It doesn't have to be hard. Go for a 20-minute walk each day — that'll be enough to get you started.
    • Clean up your diet. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, eat fruit, vegetables, nuts, pulses. Small amounts of fish and chicken. Carbohydrates like root vegetables, wholewheat pasta, wholegrain rice. Small amounts of unprocessed red meat are OK. Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
    • Cut out all recreational drugs, including caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, and anything illegal. Yes, I know that this sounds scary. Do it anyway. You won't regret it.
    • Write down on a piece of paper all of the ways that porn causes problems: Brain fog. Doing badly at work (or failing exams). Social anxiety. Bad role model. Guilt. And so on.
    • Write down on another piece of paper all the ways that giving up porn will help you: Clear head. Doing well at work (or passing exams). Confidence. Great role model. Pride. And so on.
    • Every day, once in the morning and once at night, read both pieces of paper.
    Good luck.

It takes less than you think right now. You just need to go one day at a time without porn and soon you'll notice the brain fog sailing away.

  7. 100% true. Well, actually, no… "Millions" is a gross understatement!

The latest statistics that I can find indicate over a hundred million active porn viewers worldwide (although it's hard to find definitive numbers).

Further, this doesn't take into account people who use a downloaded a porn stash or get their porn from torrents, and so aren't added to the statistics when they view porn.

It would be great to have accurate statistics.

How did they come up with the number? Does active mean same as watching right now? That number seems so small, compared to the population. There's over 2 000 million people who are between 20 and 40 years old.

  9. It means people who use porn habitually. The number comes mainly, but not exclusively, from PornHub's reports, and extrapolation.

I should have emphasised that hard numbers are difficult to come by, so there is a wide range of potential error, most likely that it's underreported.
The most reliable number that I found was over 130m (excluding those who don't use the internet or who use torrents). Assuming that your figure is accurate, that gives over 6½%.

But that's misleading, because a huge number of people under the age of 20 (from my readings, as young as 11) are hooked, and don't forget people older than 40. (I don't know why you chose that age range.) This takes the fraction down.

As a portion of the world's population (currently 7.93 billion), that makes over 1.6%.

If we exclude children under 11 and people without access to the internet, this raises the fraction.

That is a depressingly huge part of the population. More than one out of every hundred people? The lost productivity, the loss of human happiness, the waste of the planet's resources… Awful!

(Please correct me if my figures are wrong.)

I just meant that even if 100 million people between age of 20-40 watched porn, it would still be only 5% of them all. Out of all adults 100 million is a tiny percentage. I reckon the numbers are way bigger in reality.
Just saying, this doesn't really contribute to the topic

It will vary from person to person. I am on day 18 and still have brain fog. I hope to fully recover in 8 weeks.

    Brain fog:
I used to be an excessive masturbator when I was 13, I used to masturbate even without urges therefore, completely killing my body,

regardless of my streak today and leaving the dark past behind, it still exists, in my case.

It becomes manageable with time and your streak, so don't worry.

You still have brain fog after a year of not watching porn or masturbating? What kind of brain fog do you have? Could there be any other reasons for it?

Yes, but definitely less than I had before.

I researched a bit on this, and I came to a conclusion that everyone's recovery process is different.

No idea, I talked to people, they replied with no clue and they did not experience this.

Well, I am not going to say anything since those are your thoughts.

    However,
That doesn't define me. It is pure suffering. And if you don't want to believe then feel free to do not believe.

Sorry i am not trying to offend you,i am just saying to search it a little bit more because there are so many things that can cause brain fog

  18. You shouldn't be having this problem after all this time, especially at your age.

I wonder if you have a medical problem (unrelated to porn)? You've talked to people, but maybe it's time to talk to a medical expert — an internet forum isn't the best place for potentially medical advice.

There are other possibilities. For example, do you live in an abusive environment? If so, that can be a factor.

    Best of luck!
