Hey guys, today, I have not consumed porn and not masturbated for 31 days. This has not happened since 2012, so this is a big win for me. I feel great! I sleep better, I feel pretty good around women again (and they notice me) and I am overall very calm now.

Let me briefly tell you, what was important, and what's next on my journey.

It started with the realization that I am addicted to pornography, and therefore I must take the actions required to get rid of this addiction. I took a look at how substance addiction gets treated and just emulated it. Here is my recipe for success:
    1. Block porn with any technical finesse you can come up with. I installed a DNS-filter on my cable-router, then changed the password of my router, wrote the password down, gave it away to a person I trust. I don't know the password, I cannot log into my router and remove the porn-blockers. I did the same with my phone, though it's locked with a pin, which in theory should be very easy to circumvent, but it is not.
    2. Journal! Write a diary, write down why you started, write down how you feel. It will help you in weak moments, because it gives your forgetful brain a nice reminder of the hell you are trying to escape.
    3. Change of habits, routines and lifestyle. This is widely known - eat better, sleep better, meet more people, go out more often, exercise more, have quality rest time. Picking up a new hobby also helps.
But for me, at 31 days, I realized that there is more I can do. I spend way too much time on my computer, especially on the internet. I will cut down on this, too. So from now on, every other day, my computer stays off, unless I have to do something productive or important. This should get me started. It's the same way I started my nofap journey.

Let's see how things go on day 90. Porn will never be reintroduced into my life. I feel so amazing right now, I am not going back to hell.

Hello! First of all congrats for you success! Hope you don't break your streak again and write your success story of 100 days soon.

Actually can you please share what's the DNS address which you used? It will really help me too.

Hi, thank you! And yes, I love to share this! I wrote a post about this in another thread, and when you click on the link ( https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-to-block-pornographic-websites-without-spending-money-on-software/ ), I use the
CleanBrowsing DNS Adult Filter. Hope it helps! I also installed specific blocklists on my router, to make extra sure I cannot access my favourite porn sites.

Other than prn website, nothing more is blocked? Lke I previously installed a DNS which also blocked youtube live videos, comments etc. What about this one?

In my case, I blocked any online chess website on the internet, but not via DNS, I used the blacklist in my router and on my phone. I imagine it is possible. I guess the easiest way would be to install a browser plug-in that is capable of filtering content this specific, and then make yourself a user account with no admin rights, so you cannot deactivate it. Give the admin password to a person you trust and you should be good to go!

    Well done my man.
The main focus should be the little changes that have a huge impact. Like your pc usage. For me it's sleeping time. Those keystone habits are absolutely game changing.

Great stuff. Crazy how many things we can change when the time and energy put into the bad habit is directed elsewhere!

    A little update:
I ALMOST failed yesterday. Man I have not been this close to relapse since I started. One reason for this whole porn addiction was my frustration about my illness. Everytime my health declines, I feel desperate and like nothing matters. This was one huge factor, because if you have this mindset, it's easy to spend your whole day watching porn and jerking off. Well, yesterday was the day, I felt like shit, I felt like life makes no sense. Then I thought.. wait, I have my backup smartphone in the basement. What if I open a hotspot on my iPhone and connect to the internet from my backup phone? My iPhone won't let me access porn, but there is no restriction as to what data it transfers to another phone. Long story short, I don't have a backup phone anymore because the devil is working hard right now.

I still have a LONG way to go, man, but this was a key moment, like a moment of clarity and truth, I know what other problem to tackle. I need therapy for this problem.

Oh shit, I slipped up! :D Damnit! Back to square one.
Lessons learned: If you gift away a smartphone that is capable of accessing porn, give it away IMMEDIATELY, instead of having it picked up next monday. Fucking backup phone!! :D I'm still an addict, and I placed a bunch of drugs on the kitchen counter.

On the bright side: Just a slip up. The success of the past month is not lost. I didn't go on a binge, I immediately regretted it and now I am more focused on dealing with my negative emotions as soon as they occur (Which is was made me weak in the first place last week).
    Allright, Let's keep trucking!!
