I got a new phone and holy shit...

I want to remove chrome completely and block play store.
I don't need browers, I will rely on apps.

I need an app that needs a password to be unistalled, also to be able to block certain apps like play store.

    Thank you

You don't need a blocker for android. You need to block android/iPhone. You should switch to old dumb phone my friend.

  4. I have blocked Google Play store because I was installing different browsers to get around another blocker.
Try Lock Me Out. It has anti tampering and you can lock yourself out of your whole phone ( I do 12am - 5am)

Most only have a free version that ends after a trial period. if you are looking for a free blocker try Safer Surfer, you won't have all the features but the free version will block porn sites.

It sounds good but I don't think it's very practical... In today's world many people need to use Google maps, emails and internet in general outside our homes.

  7. Look up an app called Detoxify. It costs about $5 a month, but it's been a great help to me. It will allow you to block porn but also apps like the Playstore and even your settings app on the phone. You can also select a feature to block access to all future installed apps.

They even have a randomized pin code feature, so if you don't have anyone to make one for you, you can use that. To get the code you can e-mail their support team. Usually takes them about 24 hours to respond, so a good amount of time to cool off.

Like with anything on android, if you don't want battery optimization to mess things up, you will want to give the app device admin permission.

  8. Depending on where you live this could be another solution. It's important to check for carrier compatibility. I used to have a Nokia dumphone but the VoLTE stopped working.

If anyone is interested in finding a dumbphone, simply do a google search with 'Dumphone Finder'. The first result should be Jose's dumbphone finder site. It has a lot of good filters to narrow down a device that works for your needs. I would post the link, but this site's not allowing me to do that, probably because I'm newish.

I like Covenant Eyes, It has blocking, but works best as an accountability program. It works on Android, Iphone, and most PCs. You ask a sponsor or accountability partner to keep you accountably and it will alert the person if you uninstall it. It also uses AI to detect screen shots that may be porn related and sends those blurred shots to your accountability partner. I've been using it for 4 months now and it has kept me from using porn.

I am setting up google family link.
I made a google account for "parent", some balloony recover email and phone number. I will change the password and goodbye.
I am manually gonna block over 500 websites like I did with quostudio for PC.
Going to set up watch time, from 9 PM to 4 AM no access.
I know I can hard reset my phone but I have to add again banking and other apps, even for my job. It would be expensive to keep resetting the phone.
Job is tiring as it involves 4h of commuting, I only need a safety net in weekends, I don't worry much for weekdays. Wake up at 5 AM and I am home at 8 PM. I only have to deal with weekends, most important deal with mornings, if I can't see porn as I wake up, I am 99.9999% safe.
Nofap forum is also gonna get blocked, I don't wanna brag when I reach 30 days, I have to do self development and other things.
Love you guys, I will never forget this forum.
    Hardmode streak starts 1st January!

For some professionals, not having mobile e-mail would be a dealbreaker. For me, I'm a professional videographer/editor, and I need immediate access to Dropbox in case clients ask for video files while I'm out. But I suspect a lot more people could get by without a smartphone than you'd think. We lived just fine without these things--and some would say, we lived much better without these things--before the iPhone launched in 2007.

There's a market for a "medium-intelligence phone" (lol) that can:
    • email
    • call/text
    • GPS/maps
    • music
    • travel apps like airlines, Uber, Lyft, etc.
There are some companies out there that have tried to thread that needle since there's definitely a demand for it, but I haven't seen any that really knocked it out of the park yet.

I think the real answer is that Porn should be something that you opt into, not something that is automatically available to everyone, like they have tried to do in some European countries. I think it's ridiculous I have to pay a software company to protect me and my children from something that clearly has no positive social impact. In the meantime, Covenant Eyes works for me, not because it full proof, but because, I can assign my own Big Brother to watch.

I have some questions about that app because I'm thinking of buying a subscription but i have some doubts and some that i have with all blocking apps

    1) Does it necessarily require an internet connection to communicate with the accountability partner and what happens if you download material and use it offline?
    2) Do the screenshots that it takes have a predetermined frequency or pattern that the user does (eg. Opening chrome, going on private browsing, opening up the 1st website on search) and that triggers them?
    3) This one is a bypass that has worked on many apps i have tried so reply only if you're ok knowing what it is.
Does force stopping the apps from the return button or the settings stop its function? Or does it start up alone (i have a xiaomi phone that allows me to do that and also an app keeping the permission to start up alone is very hard in this system)

When the app is running correctly it takes periodic screen shots and records them. It also uses AI to detect screens that may be porn or triggering and reports them with a warning to alert your AP to check it out and talk to you.

Obviously, if you are disconnected it won't send the reports immediately, but when you are connected again it should.

The App can fail on its own and stop reporting, but that too gets reported to the AP, and will tell him if it's been disconnected for a while. I'm sure you can find tricks to make it fail, but then you are defeating the purpose of having it and your AP will know that it wasn't working and if you ask him to check periodically, he may and question you.

It also takes pictures of what you have open, perhaps a word document or power point, it will send that screen as well and even include the titles of the document or web pages you were on. AI isn't going to alert everything that may be a slip, but at least I know my AP has the ability to see all those screen shots and know when I might be cheating the software and for me that's enough motivation. Knowing Big Brother is watching is enough. It's not perfect, but I know I couldn't be 6 months clean without it. I'm not trying to get one over on the software or my AP, I'm trying to get free from porn. If that is not your mentality, then you are probably not ready to stop.

I'm not exactly trying to do that either, it's just that I've been disappointed at how easily i have found the same workaround for so many apps. I am currently trying to stave off P before going on and trying to quit M too, cause all at once seems too hard for me at this point in time, and maybe by forgetting about P it will be easier to go 90 days PMO free sooner than later.

But the fact that the app also notifies the AP when it is not running correctly is encouraging. One last question, does the AP also have to pay for the subscription? And if i have someone as an AP dies it automatically mean I'm their partner too and it takes screenshots of their phone etc?
