Does how long you view porn make the reboot recovery faster

    Hello,

    I am a newbie and am at 11 days of NoFAP I am 46. My question is I read where people have viewed porn up to 5 hours a day with me it is different I only view porn to get the orgasm which can take 10 minutes or even less if I am in a rush and would have done this 1 or 2 times a day and then the porn would be quickly switched off and thats when the shame starts when you put your dick away and open the curtains.

    I'm not sure of the science of brain change, in relation to porn recovery, average length of porn viewing as it relates to recovery etc. Don't let that concern you too much.

    The key thing is that you've taken the step to join the NoFap community, which is significant. If you don't mind me asking, what measures have you taken/are you taking to help break this habit for good?

    I guess the only data we have, and its not empirical data either, is that if you started to watch porn BEFORE the high speed internet became mainstream, you have better chances of faster recovery. As you are 46yo, you fit in that category.

    I can say that if you always PMO in about 10-15 minutes, your brain is not used to hours of dopamine release. It may be a good sign.

    But its an addiction! An alcoholic can be alcoholic if he drinks a few drinks a night but NEEDS IT BAD. No need for him/her to drink a case of 24 to be tagged "alcoholic".

    So YMMV. Please state your reasons to stop, and any side effect you experience. Trouble sleeping? Isolation? Erectile dysfunction during real sex? What are your motivations?

    Sorry for late reply I have setup parental porn blocker on my router and when try I to access anything with the word porn or any other sexual inuendo it will not allow me access, I am currenly logged through my mobile phone. The reason for quitting is that I have social anxiety can be bad in most cases and I am taking anti-depressants and for years I am have been trying to find out what is causing this problem and all the time I have been thinking that internet porn and masterbation helped to relieve the symptoms but I think its my worst enemy. The porn is really fucking with my head going from straight porn to gay porn trans transwoman sissy its got to STOP!!! and it as!!!!!!. My biggest trigger was stress or something bad happening in my life I would come home and get relief from porn NO LONGER THOUGH time to grow a pair.

    Currently at 25 days no porn viewing or masterbating and I think I am in a flatline I do not get aroused but do have morning erections actually I had the hardest one today and felt myself fantasing but no M. The reason for quitting is to try and fix the above issues, also its disgusting and very seady shutting the curtains and getting on your knees I would view porn 2 to 3 times a day and masterbate 2 or 3 times day and my knees are making a hole in the carpet. I am currently single and self employed and work on my computer so getting away from it is non starter I just have to be vigilant and make sure my mind does not wonder I go to the gym more and have just took up boxing.

    Benefits I have had after 25 days is that I have more energy slightly more confidence speaking to girls a bit more but because I am going through this flatline at the moment it does hold me back also concentration is improved, I do not expect to see changes over night although my sessions of viewing porn are slim it was enough to fuck with my brain and put me on tablets I am presuming this is the problem only time will tell and also at the same time trying to improve my business and self image.

    Keep going kirkylad. It DOES get easier but our mind-bodies need time to adjust.

    Keep doing the positive things - exercise, diet, plenty of sleep, avoiding isolating, checking in on NoFap as much as you can etc - and together, we'll break the neck of PMO in our lives for good!

    Thankyou for your support and we will put PMO into room 101.

    • Actually started nofap on my Birthday March the 31st.
    • Next thing is get of these tablets in a sensible way. I have cut back to one every other day with doctors guidance so at the end of may will hopefully cut back to 2 every other day or whatever doctor reccommends.

    Can I ask how many days you have been doing nofap.? and have you noticed a difference?.

    For me, I joined NoFap a few months back but only really started using it & engaging here most days, about 4 weeks ago.

    It's invaluable & I see the NoFap tribe a key factor in my breaking the neck of the PMO monster for good.

    I have been clean for 25 days & intend to never choose to look at porn for the rest of my life. I'm at that point where it's me vs the PMO monster, to the death.

    Everyone's time comes eventually & I'm there now.
