Day 3 since committing to no PMO. Going to bed before midnight helps. Reading posts here is giving me strength. One day at a time.

    Hi everyone,

I have relapsed yesterday. And today the chaser effect got me, so relapsed again just now. Can some one give me advise, I think I'm underestimating the chaser so far.

I've noticed a huge energy loss after my relapse. I feel fatigue and disgusted by myself. Every time that happens I get into the tendency to isolate my self from society.

    What have I learned;

    - my moms smartphone was the trigger this morning and yesterday. She leaves it charged in the living room. Well now she will have to charge it in her bedroom (I got rid of my smartphone, I'm using a regular phone with no internet in order not to relapse).

I wish you all a pleasant morning. And a easy and fast going reboot together here.

    Cheers

Practice self forgiveness. You're human. See if you can push yourself to go out and not isolate today. Exercise and do something good for yourself. Eat comfort food.

    DanLA33 your right,

In the end I'm human I should not make my self go crazy about my relapse. Thank you so much for the comment. It makes me feel much better now. Thank you man.

I will try to give a physiological explanation:
Nature has designed (evolved) our brains to produce dopamine everytime we achieve an action for food hunting or reproduction (two important elements for survival). Food is abundant and hence no effort needed to satisfy the hunger. Our porn industry has successfully exploited the reproduction factor by placing a substitute in the form of P with many different images changing all the time (causing Coolidge effect). For the past several years (or decades in some cases) our brain nerves have established certain pathways to produce large amounts of dopamine super-fast. According to Yogis: "...separate threads form a strong rope, one thread entwined with another building upon each other..."

What is the solution: Break one thread at a time until the entire rope breaks apart.
So, to breakdown these nerves, feed them as little electrical activity as possible. Removing P's and P-subs will drastically reduce the food for these nerves. However, brain cannot differentiate between imagination and reality - same signals are sent through those same nerves in both cases. So, removing P thoughts will further reduce the "food" for those wrongly wired nerves.

There needs to be a secondary action in parallel. Those nerves that do not get the "P" food and get starved, need some other dopamine producing alternate foods. Depending on the individual and their circumstances, the alternate can be a passionate hobby, sports, career, financials, fierce political debate, or family, etc. Unfortunately, it will not produce that large doses of dopamine super fast (atleast not in the beginning). So more sustained long term campaign is needed. Some very successful people figured this out at very young age and wired their brain for those alternate thoughts that produce the same dopamine. Eg. Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk for their technological passions.

Imagine, if your brain nerves were wired for technology or artist, politician, scientist, doctor, lawyer, social worker, accountant, or any other chosen path) instead of P, you would have been the Steve Jobs in that field. I am sure one of you on this website could have been a 'Steve Jobs' if not for the P :). You still have time!

Today is my day 3. Funny thing happened this morning when I woke up. Suddenly had the urge to M. Images of P came flooding to my mind. I almost lost the battle if not for a miracle. The miracle that is my alarm. Yes, my alarm went of and brought me back to reality. All the urges disappeared and suddenly im back in control. My journey to 90 days continue...

    Day 29
I took the PSAT today, and I believe I did fairly well. I would like to be able to contribute my focus as a product of NoFap. The whole testing time my focus never wavered. I think the practice of keeping focus on a goal like NoFap actually helped me :)

    Day 29,

The day started out rocky, with urges and toeing the line of p-subbing. However, was able to reach out to some people for help and find an S-meeting I could go to, which I found really helpful. Keep up the fight guys!

First week done. Only eleven to go. It's been easier than the first attempt, only very few urges and they were weak. The longer you fight this thing, the stronger you become.

    Good luck to all!

Lately i've been justifying myself to PMO again because i "can" do it now since i've come so long (longest streak so far). I actually don't know what to think of that but i just saw this post and i'm going for those 90 days!

I started aiming for 30 and since i passed the mark this situation keeps repeating, i haven't done it because... i really don't know, my only anchor is that i say that the only way to make it is by banging a girl.

So i'm in, 90 days no PM
