How would you feel if your legal aged offspring told you they were getting into the porn industry?

  1. So how you would react to your child saying this? Male or female. Asking for a friend.

Cut off my pinky Yakuza style and hand it to them.

Ok maybe not, but whatever they do they'd remember that.

    I'd relapse.

  4. It's their life to live not mine. If they want to do that I don't mind. And I don't think there is anything wrong with working in porn. Sure porn is a drug, but drugs can be used responsively. Even things like heroin if done right. So I don't think porn industry is evil or anything. It's our fault that we abuse it and fault of society that it does not educate us on dangers. And yea, there are some bad things going on in industry that I dislike but none of them represent industry as a whole. So when it comes from morality perspective I am fine with porn industry as a whole.

Considering it would be their personal choice and if that is what they want to do, I wouldn't get in their way. I'd share about my experiences with porn and how tough it was to leave it behind. If I'll have a child or children in the future, I'll love and support them no matter what.

  6. I would ask them to extend their hand. Then I would take my zippo and hold it, lit, under their hand. If they move their hand I'm going to ask them how they expect to endure hell if they can't endure a little zippo?

    Blank stare. Then, "Say whaaat?"

The porn industry is extremely competitive. You're not likely to make much money if any at all. Even cam sites had to crack down on performers doing increasingly demeaning things as they couldn't get enough attention. Many in the porn industry end up on drugs to cope with the psychological trauma that eventually manifests. Many experience depression. Compare it to Hollywood. So many actors, yet you only ever hear of a few of them. Fewer still get anywhere. Look up thepinkcross. It looks as if their website may no longer be but you should be able to find stories from former porn stars who turned against the industry.

If it were me, once I got over the shock, I'd try to have a heart to heart talk. Why do you want to do this? Do you understand the potential consequences? Have you done your research (which could include forums for performers. One I once stumbled across had them rather candid about their profession, including the fact that new girls have to deal with a lot of shit with no guarantee of actually getting anywhere. This includes dealing with cliques.)? I think it would be very important if difficult not to become judgmental in the conversation.
