I don't know about other people - but this is my take on NoFap.
It's very simple - just do not masturbate and do not watch porn. This is how I am doing it.
I do have a Tumblr and as most people know there is porn everywhere on there. So I don't count it as looking at porn if I just skip over it.
Don't M. Don't look at P (exception: accidentally stumbling across it - in which case just ignore it and skip over it). And don't O (unless you are having sex, which doesn't matter for me cause I'm 13).
    Those are my views.
I guess I'll call it "barebones nofap".
Thanks for reading this. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

Coop, you have definitely found something that works for you. Making that simple decision is what unites us all here, but to do it without temptation or relapse is pretty rare. It is scary that someone as young as you is here participating in noFap. It is a testament to your maturity that you have recognised that you have a problem, but it is sad that the world has allowed you to reach this point in the first place.

Fortunately, it sounds like your addiction is not ingrained and you have the mental strength to break it by willpower alone. Many people here have had the addiction for 10, 20 or 30 years longer than you and that sort of addiction is not so easily defeated. We have become slaves that, when given the keys to our shackles and shown freedom, choose to stay and be slaves because we know no other life. It takes a bigger stick to make us walk away from PMO.

Well done and good luck with your nofap challenge. Watch out for those who will try to lure you back in. Unfollow those who post P. If they ask why you unfollowed just tell them their P posts are boring. Other than that, stick to what works.

It's not a very good idea to expose yourself to that stuff on Tumblr. You skip over it now, but I assure you one day you will linger over it...then full blown relapse.

Also who the heck is posting porn? What kind of porn are we talking here...?

If you've used Tumblr before and regularly you know that you're destined to run across porn... It isn't too common but it happens. When I first started Tumblr I had been somewhat surprised to see porn, but I had been warned by one of my friends that porn is bound to be seen. And after four months or so I am not even fazed by it. It is completely normal to see porn on Tumblr - same with DeviantArt. But, 99% of the time it isn't sex. It is the way some artists express themselves, through artistic nude, and not just sex.

I agree with you - I do have a problem and I am quite young. However, masturbation in teens is quite common. Statistics have shown that 9 out of 10 teens from age 13-15 masturbate daily. And I was one of them - but I decided to make a change. And I agree, it is quite sad that this is so common nowadays. But sexual themes, references, etc. are seen literally everywhere in the media. A well known kids show, Spongebob has some sexual references (which kids normally don't understand), which makes the show more enjoyable for adults as well. It is essentially impossible to escape from sexual themes/references in anything today. Maybe unless you live like Henry David Thoreau. Which I wouldn't suggest. But thanks for your feedback - it is quite relatable.

I started at about the same age that you're quitting. Good job man! It will extremely help your social life when you get to high school and college if you quit now. Plus the ladies will be all over you ;). That's always a great plus.

And you're bringing up Thoreau. That's awesome!

    Congratulations and good luck!

It's great that you decided to stop fapping/pr0n in your early years. I kinda wish I did that when I was 13.

You're right, the process is indeed very simple. Do not masturbate and do not look at porn. There's a very clear line there. That's basically the approach I've used and I think it's the best way to do it.

But that line starts becoming blurry after a while (3-4 weeks in in my experience). You start making excuses, like "oh that's not porn", or "it's ok if I watch and not masturbate", or "I'm only going to wash my dick". You also start fantasizing and that's the worst thing ever.

It's important to keep reminding yourself of the simple guidelines of "do not touch your dick, and do not look at arousing stuff, and do not fantasize"

This simple approach is very easy for you because I think you're not addicted. It takes several years of constant fapping/pr0n to become addicted to it, and once you do become addicted to it and it becomes a daily habit, then stopping it becomes very difficult.

To a regular person who is not addicted to fapping, nude art might not be considered as porn. But to a desperate Fapstronaut who hasn't looked at a naked body or fapped in a month, that nude art will perfectly make do

I've never heard of Henry David Thoreau - looks like some interesting reading :)

No thanks required. I was just saying what you already knew - lol.

Good luck and have a great summer.

    Best of luck.

Like others on here i wish i knew about this community at 13.

I'm 18 now and nofap is pretty damn great!

I would avoid the naked posts man, even if you're not lured in at the moment you will be- just a matter of time.

Same with FB, Twitter, Youtube avoid all the P. It's sooo bad.

Well Done! I think that is a very wise decision.

I can guarantee one thing, porn never adds something of value to your life. I have 30 years experience of that.

I would stay away from tumblr. I preferred tumblr as a porn source as GIF's are just repeat scenes of exactly what you are looking for. Stumbling across any triggers at all is likely to rip away all your hard work and that can be disheartening. Good luck.

Man. That's crazy that a social media site is so full of porn... is there any warning pop ups or anything?
