I think that is why great minds think alike, it is because we've learned to recognize the greatness in life around us and as it becomes our common teacher we end up along such common paths.

I think 1st one is a mental statement and the other is an emotional one!

To be curious to want to investigate something to find out more, while to be fascinated is almost more to be compelled by a greater force towards something.
The words are so similar in meaning they could be interchangeable in some contexts, but together like this they do expose each other's more subtle and richer meanings.
