Yes, that's the way ! First is to become aware of them and second is to confess them ! I'm no saint either and probably guilty in them all although for a long while I thought that I immune to envy, but few weeks ago discovered that not.

..Sometimes to detect it moving in your soul you have to become aware of your slightest feeling or thought impulse under certain circumstances. The more you become aware of them and the more you confess them the less power over you they have.
