I do not know all of the politics behind this song, but it goes with their usual style of speaking out for the crimes against Armenia. I guess that these crimes are modern. According to the London Times, it was reported that before the Nazi invasion of Poland, Hitler said, "Go, kill without mercy. After all, who remembers the Armenians?" Other research shows that the Armenian genocide was studied & used as a model for Nazi tactics.

As it turns out, I knew about the conflict indirectly from someone who was in Azerbaijan (or nearby) at the time. I did not realize that this was "old news," so to say.
