120 days straight + some tips to help

    This is a challenge to not watch any porn (or look at any sexually stimulating activities) for 120 days, as well as not masturbating.
    To stop with the pornography part, I am using K9 web protection - for windows or any computer, and setting it to safety mode, Mobicip - for iOS, and use that browser only by adding restrictions, as well as for Android. But for these, you want someone else to make the account for you, otherwise, you could just re-enter the password; if you have no one, you can make this huge password, write it on a peice of paper for registration, confirm everything, then rip it to shreds
    For the self-stimulating activity, I don't know of any useful technique other than, when the urge strikes, find an alternative activity. Also, to re-wire your brain, you could place a rubber band around your hand, and when the urge strikes, you flick the rubber band, triggering pain - external stimulus, and thus making you remember the pain each time.
    These are some of the methods I was planning on using, any suggestions?

    Alright, so far so good. Welcome to the forum, and I look forward to seeing this through to the end. So far, its going well, i'm just breezing through; lets hope it stays like that.

    To anyone else that wants to join, it'll be a great opportunity... start at any time you like, and try your best the whole way through. Forums like this bring us together, and ease out everything.

    Tip of the day that I found useful - When you feel stimulated to watch porn, or maturbate, simply go to the gym and do heavy workouts (more preferrably cardio); this way, your testosterone levels decrease, and you are less likely to fall into it, by a large, throughout the day.

    Day two - going well, and please, by all means, if anyone wants to join, its never too late.


    Tip of the day - Any sort of meditation, or frequent prayers depending upon religions, can help to relax parts of the brain. But these prayers have to be intentional (i.e. you can't just do it to finish it!), and not just as a means of exercise, or something to do before committing anything stupid. This thus disallows you to think about "things" which may otherwise ruin your life. But keep in mind, these prayers or meditations must be performed, trying to remove such thoughts. (By prayers it can be religious, frequent prayers - as in where a congregation takes place - that sort of location)

    Day three into it - its still going quite well; only a very slightly small urge to do anything, but its working. This forum has really helped out.

    Tip of the day - Think about your goal, that should be something to keep you going. Also, put barriers between you and what is causing you to commit it!

    Again, anybody that wants to join, free by my count, just write in a comment. I'm most likely going to extend the date and time later, if the urge doesn't become soooo sever after 120 days.

    I'm in!

    I have hit my lowest point by asking a friend to PMO with me. He was non-judgmental and declined. I am so embarrassed and have realized I have a major problem.

    I look forward to this journey and to support others as they support me.

    I am beginning Day 5. Some urges but have been able to divert my attention through reading the forums, listening to pornfreeradio.com, exercising or prayer.

    hey everyone I am right there with you guys. today Is day 11 for me and I am in the middle of withdrawal. Anxiety, cant sleep very well at night and more. This is crazy!

    Welcome everybody to the forum, and I look forward to working with you too.

    Day four - Going well, I guess telling people, or having people aware of this situation really does help to removing such desires.
    Alright, you guys, this forum, you can start whenever you want.

    Tip of the day - Dopamine is key for many addictions. It is a chemical in the brain which is responsible for making you feel good, excited etc. It is the drive which motivates you to continue something. The problem is, with many of these acts, the dopamine released is enormous, and unnatural. To try and re-wire, or re-trigger these parts of the brain in a healthier way, try to reward yourself when you reach your goal. Or, try to reward yourself after you reach a certain amount within your goal. That way, reward can be the drive that keeps you going.

    I am a singer and research shows that singing releases dopamine. One of my alternative activities will be singing more. I will be trying to substitute MO with singing as much and is possible.

    Good idea, and the best part about that is that it would be natural. Try to also find other activities which may reward you. I personally recommend sports, which also release adrenaline; and it all depends on you personally. To me, I make origami, and I am more-or-less an expert at it. That is usually my reward for these situations because thinking of the end-result of the project keeps me going. Also, doing new things which seem exciting to you tend to release dopamine

    Day 6 for me.

    No real desire to PMO or MO today. Asked a personal friend to be my AP. so grateful he agreed.

    Signed up at the gym today. Membership starts soon. Can't wait to get in shape physically and mentally.

    Wow, how many days has it been? Well, no Pornography certainly has paid off. Of course it was extremely difficult. I created a new goal for myself: 1000 days, and i started it off at day 1. My internet broke down, so I had no real way to write. At least it is made apparent that I could not have looked at anything online.

    Tip of the day: After any difficulty, there will be ease!!!!!!!!
